what are the dimensions on the box of a wide and narrow box pickup? Is the only difference in the width. Are the finders are narrower on the wide box? And by how much? What car finders will interchange? Thanks

I don't have the dimensions but the wide bed in wider, longer and the fender
are unique to that bed.

2 different beds. The finders are a rare bird. Pm me I have a set that need a home.
They will need some reworking to be used. Currently no replacemants are available to my knowledge.

If I needed a work truck I would choose the wide bed. It is definitely wider and I think longer. The bottom corners are square which makes it able to carry more. If I need a truck that looked good I would choose the narrow bed. The bottom is rounded (which I think looks better) and there is a raised belt on the side of the bed (which I think is missing on the wide bed). But that is just my personal preference. I have an early '31 RDPU with the narrow bed.

The narrow bed tail gate had two hinges and the Ford logo. The wide bed had a tail gate with 3 hinges, no Ford logo and special fenders that were 10” as opposed to the regular 12” fenders. The 10” fenders are not being reproduced (A-16168 and A-16169) by anyone at this time. This wide bed, designed by Briggs, was introduced in May of 1931. This bed had straight sides, unimpeded by inner wheel arches, and a 16-gauge steel floor. Its cargo capacity was 22.2 cubic feet, up from the previous 16.5 cubic feet, via its 59.4-inch length, 46-inch width and 16.7-inch height.
