The 2 attached pictures show an indentation for the hood hinge.
I'm looking for a clear closeup shot of the same spot with a "dimple" in the centre of the indentation.
*pic#1 the bare metal piece, is evenly pressed & smooth
...while pic#2 the primered cowl, faintly shows that dimple.
I believe this dimple appeared sometime in early 31? ...but not sure.
Please stay with me while I explain this weird request...
1) my April 31 cowl came with the dimples in the indentation
2) while doing welding & extensive repairs I decided to hammer & dolly the indentations to a smooth form (like pic#1) because I thought the dimples where just some previous damage ...like someone prying against the metal.
3) now I've noticed the dimpled indentation in other 1931 Model A photos and realize I've really messed up!
Unfortunately I didn't take a close picture before destroying mine and now I'm ready to weld in the firewall except the dimples have to be re-made first.
4) if anybody can post or send me some closeup pictures of a "dimpled indentation" I would be eternally gratefull because the area in question is at eye level and I need to get it right.
Thanks in advance if you can help...Craig.
