Guys, I Need help identifying a Borg-Warner 3-speed. Side case # T89B-143 and R11-1p on the tail. It was in my 57 Fairlane 500 but per the data plate it is not correct for the car. Does anyone know what it came out of? What year?

Thanks

Could have came from a Ford truck:

BORG-WARNER T89
1956-71 Trucks
Cast iron case, top loading with 9-bolt side cover.
Non-synchronized 1st gear
36 tooth brass synchro rings for 2nd/3rd.
4 step cluster gear.

You have the best of the overdrive transmissions: a T85 with the R11 overdrive. The T85 and T89 shifter covers interchange. Most of the T85s I have seen have T89 covers on them. The T89 had straight cut first and reverse and never had a main shaft for overdrive. The T85 had helical cut first and reverse gears and could be had with or without overdrive. If you purchased a blown Studebaker or Ford with overdrive, or purchased a big block Ford or Chevy with overdrive, you got a T85 with R11 overdrive.

These were side loaded, not top loaded.
