I agree, the condenser is easier, and cheaper, to try first. However, get 3 condensers, odds are one of the three will be good. Or maybe that only happens to me?

Thanks everyone, but she's going to leave it a EFV8 members garage and take it easy in a rental for the rest of the tour. I think the timing was the heating problem too. Apparently however, even with a good fuse it was not kicking in to overdrive. I hope that means the solenoid is bad and...

Thanks Charles, might just be what we have to do. They have been fighting heat problems all the way, not just my Mom, and I was hoping she could use the OD to keep things a little cooler. They are replacing the fuse and going to see how long it will go this time.

What size fuse should be used on a '50 3-speed w/ overdrive. Was running a 30amp, but it blew and I'm not sure if it's because it was the wrong amperage. If 30amps is correct, quick ideas as to what could be causing it to pull to many amps? I'm diagnosing this over the phone, Mom's on her way...

Thanks Al, that's exactly what I needed. Do you happen to know what the story with these are? Is it a Ford part or aftermarket? Just something they did up there in Canada?

Anyone know where I can get the filter? Or what the part number to reference it by would be? Or what the heck to search for? Large, Heavy Duty, truck .... not finding it. If you can't tell by the picture, it's about twice the height of the filter on my other 8BA/8RT's. Thanks!

Great story and beautiful family member you have there! I would also recommend completely replacing the wiring harness. Disconnect the battery when you're not using the car and keep a fire extinguisher handy when you are. No reason to risk such a nice car and garage. Congratulations ...
