1928 special coupe and tudor sedan doors

Hi Wayne, the car in my avatar is going to remain stock other than the 35 wheels. My coupe has already been turned into a hot rod before I bought it so it will remain a hot rod.

1928 special coupe and tudor sedan doors

Are the doors on a 1928 special coupe and 1928-29 tudor sedan the same? My coupe doors are 29 1/4" wide. A few times when I have seen 28-29 doors for sale they are advertised as coupe/sedan doors so I assume they are the same.

Was there a 3 window Model A coupe

I found this photo claiming to be 1928 special coupe. It looks like a 28/29 Model A with my limited experience

    Been sitting 20 years

My Model A sat for at least 20 years before I bought it. All my valves were seized, the cam would open the valves but the valve spring wouldn't close them. A compression test would be a good idea.

    Model a original beading

I'm glad to hear someone like Bill Stipe is making a effort to build the patch panels right.

    Model a original beading

Here is the patch panel I made on the left, the originals in the middle and the reproduction on the right. I think the bead I made is closer to the original. I just played with the dies that come with most bead rollers. The bottom picture shows how I have my dies set.

    Early-bird swap meet

Has anyone here gone to the Early-bird swap meet in Puyallup Wa? If so is there much Model A stuff there? How big is the meet? Is it about the same size as the Monroe Wa meet?

    Torch metal shrinking

I also use a shrinking tip on my stud gun, that works really well for me. I have also had good luck with the shrinking disk but it is slow.

    TIG welder

The metal as to be super clean and the joints should be tight, it's hard to fill gaps with a TIG. The welds are soft so you are able to hammer and dolly the welds with out cracking. I have Miller 200 TIG and I love it. If you can weld with a torch you will pickup TIG welding quickly

    Shrinking disc

I used the shrinking disk with good results. I also use a spray bottle and you what to see steam when you spray it and I also use compressed air. I use a little dish soap in the spray bottle but the bar of soap applied to the disk sounds like a good idea also.
