TJ, I did try Bob Drake. They confirmed that they discontinued carrying that material 5 years ago. Seems like I'm always a bit late. Need to order things when I first think of them rather than later when they are no longer available.

Thanks for the input. I'm feeling less crazy now, at least in regards to the Flathead question. I haven't noticed a similar tag on my engine, but then it could have been discarded by the mechanic that did the rebuild back in the 50's. I'll keep looking, listening and probing.
