    1956 F100 Horn Problem

Thank you! I've run a jumper wire from the relay power to the horn and it works. I've also tried a jumper wire from the horn side to the horn with nothing. I have sparks at the steering wheel and at the relay marked "S". I haven't pulled the wire out of the steering column but it looks good on...

    1963 Galaxie Decode Exterior Paint

Alan, Thank you for all of this detailed information. I still have one question - on my reference book, "Car & Parts Magazine - Catalog of American Car ID Numbers 1960-1969", the VIN says the first digit identifies the year, the 2nd digit identifies the assembly plant (which is listed as...

    1963 Galaxie Decode Exterior Paint

I'm interested in buying a 1963 Galaxie but do not understand the paint code as a "B" or a "3" as neither are listed on the decoder. And, the VIN indicates an "S" for a 289 but it has a 260 label and painted blue. Is this correct? I appreciate any help. Thanks. The plate reads (sorry, can't...

    Flathead V8 Problem

Thanks for all the suggestions. It sounds like it's power valves and distributor. Both carburetors have 7.5 power valves. I ordered smaller ones to put in this week. Everyone says I need a mechanical distributor. This is an original 6 volt. I don't want to put electronic on it. I need an...

    V8 Flathead Problem

These carburetors were professionally rebuilt by Daytona Engineering in New Smyrna, FL. They sent it back with 51 jets with 7.5 power valves. This is an old school build but this set up has been on this truck for 10 years and worked perfectly until recently. My local mechanic is wanting to put...

    V8 Flathead Problem

It's an 8BA flathead. The distributor is factory and is connected to the front carburetor (which are Holley AA94 two barrel - two of them) which have all been on it for the last ten years until it started having this issue. I've had the carburetors rebuilt, messed with the jets and the advance...

    Flathead V8 Problem

I have a flathead V8 8BA engine with two Holly AA94s. If you let off full throttle then it's okay (like at quarter throttle), but when you accelerate beyond that it acts like it's starving for fuel or the advance isn't working (but the advance is working). I've had both carburetors rebuilt...

    V8 Flathead Problem

I have a 100 horsepower flathead with 2 one barrel carburetors that has been on the truck for 10 years. It smells rich at idle and lean at high end and runs perfect at a quarter throttle. It started to have issues, so I had both carburetors rebuilt three times, messed with the jets, adjusted...

    1936 Cabriolet Regulator Gear

We had the exact same problem with our '36 Cabriolet. Half way up it would get on a bind and slip a tooth, so we put a small bracket so the regulator wouldn't twist or get in a bind and it took care of the problem. It was an easy fix really.
