    Clutch Pedal Won't Return

The throwout bearing hub slides on a bearing retainer sleeve at the front of the transmission. The old grease in the hub could have solidified and gummed up the free movement of the hub. I might try removing the grease fitting and digging out the grease with a thin pick, then filling the hole...

Electrical. You need a spark or heat to start the fire.

    Trouble with starter

Yup, I would suspect the shaft is bent. Try taking the starter out and removing the bendix, and spin it up by briefly connecting a battery. You might be able to see the wobble in the shaft. You may be able to straighten it by judicious use of a press.

    Best bargain found at Hershey

What was the best bargain you found at Hershey this year? For me, it was an original rear axle shaft, no wear at the oil seal area, key way, threads, gear teeth all perfect, $5.00.

    Rear Brake Light Issue

I suspect a broken wire or loose connection in or from the Signal Stat. With these switches, the brake light wiring is duplicated right and left, and routes through he turn signal switch rather than directly to the brake lights.

    Model A Water pump

What Bob Bidonde said. More than likely it was the fan blade that broke first. The imbalanced vibration stressed the pump casting and caused it to snap afterward.

    National meets

And just an observation from someone who has attended several MARC national meets. You have your majority of old fogies like me who attend, but there are more and more young people I see attending these meets.

    27 T exhaust

I has to really crank on the nut to get it to seat. I suppose I was kind of cutting a new thread in the brass nut by doing so.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV)

I guess everyone has their own way of enjoying their Model A, and more power to them. One reason I enjoy my Model A is because it is simple, uncluttered and easy to work on. There's not much that can go wrong with it. I don't understand the impulse to add things that just complicate matters...

    A Henry Ford story

One thing about YouTube video creators that drives me crazy is when they drag out what should be a 5 minute video to 15 minutes. I found this video on my own while browsing through YouTube, but after a few minutes I couldn't take it any longer. Get to the point!!!

Will High Octane Gas Reduce Knock in a 5.5 or 6.1 Head?

87 Octane is fine for cars with 8, 9 or even 10:1 compression rations. Like I said, even for a 5.5 or 6:1 head, 87 is already high octane.

    Tire Pressure

There was a batch of inner tubes some time back that were found to be porous. The air would just seep right through the rubber. You might have gotten ahold of some of those.

Will High Octane Gas Reduce Knock in a 5.5 or 6.1 Head?

The octane rating of gasoline in the 1930s was about 75. For a Model A, 87 octane is already high octane.

    Fortunately gaskets never go bad….

Re: Fortunately gaskets never go bad…. Yup, I found a few of these on ebay a few years ago and bought them all up. Apparently the gasket manufacturers nowadays assume every engine is over-bored and never heard of sleeving cylinders.

    Speedometer Cable

Unscrew the cable end from the drive on torque tube and install the speedo end first. That will give you more play and wiggle room. When all done on the top, reconnect the cable to the drive below.

    Where does the grease go?

It is a tortured path for the grease from that fitting to make it out to the rear wheel bearing. You're better off removing the rear hub and re-packing the bearing periodically.

    Cam gear noise after warmup

The metal center is not the original Ford design. That was an aftermarket reproduction part. Ford's gear was solid fiber.
