    30 AA coming together

Set the cab today. Hood and doors are next, then the interior, then drive the tires off of it.

Elbow grease, sheet metal work, and paint

Thanks. I got into the gas tank welting with the buffer. Did not take but a second to take the paint off of it. Touched it up though and barely noticeable. Just when you think you are done........

Elbow grease, sheet metal work, and paint

This 30 AA body was covered in Kool Seal and red paint. The rust out areas required replacement. The body was so rusted I was afraid to sandblast. $1500+ was not in the budget for a better condition truck cab. So, here it is. Very pleased!!!

    30 AA progress

Enjoying the time and laughs with my Dad, but sand, sand, sand. I don't have a paint booth, and the humidity in North Alabama is about 101%. My clear coat clouded up. Sanding for second coat of paint. No clear this time.

Original vs homemade wood 30 AA

I thought so too. The rear header was in too poor condition to tell about it's wood type.

Original vs homemade wood 30 AA

I used poplar. It's what I had left over from the bed construction.

Original vs homemade wood 30 AA

Rear header is complete and reproduced the missing wood over curved roof panel. Had one original for pattern. Not too bad!! Buying the front header.

Is there a thicker radiator for an AA?

Tom, as long as it fits and matches up, I am interested.

Is there a thicker radiator for an AA?

I have installed the radiator shell on the AA. It had a steel, painted commercial shell when I got it, put very pitted. I didn't notice a gap between the front of the shell and the radiator. I replaced that shell with a stainless commercial shell that I sandblasted and painted black. It and...

Pleasure of seeing results on a AA project

I assure you, not a spot on this fender a magnet wouldn't jump to.

Pleasure of seeing results on a AA project

Going from this.....to this.....is worth the sore arms from hand rubbing and buffing!

30 AA Truck Gas Tank Filler Strip

What is the piece called that resembles a dash panel, only screws to the pillar posts on the outside just above the gas tank? Is it reproduced?

    Anyone?

    What color is this???

Of course, it is hard to use the chips in the Paint and Finish Guide with the chips on a white background. Blue Rock Green looked the closest.

    What color is this???

I am beginning to disassemble the cab on the 30 AA. The cab had been painted in the past with what looks like Cool Seal. Bad shape. However, I pulled the dash panel and found what looks like original paint. What is it? Also, on the backside of the dash panel is a gloss black that still...

Dad's maiden ride in the 30 AA

Pop's maiden voyage in his almost complete 30 AA Ford Truck today. This 67 year old man was like a kid in a candy shop. From helping me with math homework as a kid, spending hours playing tic-tac-toe when I was home sick from school, coaching me in baseball, tearing my rear end up with a belt...

First run of the engine in the 30 AA today

It is. I would much rather hear one at idle with the spark retarded. I like the sound.
