    Spray Can Paint Job (Aerosol)

A Model "A" is a thing that is prone to nicks & scratches in its paint. They are unavoidable. For this reason, I would not use a clear coat on a Model "A" because it complicates touch-up. Clear coat is especially bad on black & dark colors as it shows every scratch. The best finish in my opinion...

    1931 12 volt Model A ignition issue

It is a "reluctor" system that replaces the breaker points with a magnetic induction type switch. Good advice is to scrap the reluctor system and return to the original breaker points that have worked well for decades. The reluctor system is much less reliable.

    What does "AR" actually mean?

"AR" means the part drawing is the first release by engineering. The "R" indicates the part was discontinued in production, but retained for service use.

    Rear Brake Light Issue

Last evening the LH rear turn signal failed again. There is an open circuit somewhere and it may be in the bullet connectors. Once again, more to follow.

    Rear Brake Light Issue

The problem is fixed. After disassembling the Signal Stat,I found nothing wrong inside of it. Then I replaced the electronic flasher, but still no joy. The right side taillight has all functions working, so I ruled out the brake light switch. The problem was the bullet connections of the LH...

    Starter Bendix

My advice is to use a modern Ford starter drive that is made in the USA. The original Bendix drive is prone to failure especially if you have used parts in it.

    Judging Class For The Original

In my opinion, original "A's" & "AA's" are not properly recognized by national judging classes. Giving these vehicles national recognition will encourage keeping them original, especially since the cost of a restoration has become unaffordable for many enthusiasts.

    Reviving the Hobby

My local club just appointed a "Youth Ambassador." The Ambassador will develop local Model "A" displays at schools, churches, libraries, fairs, etc. My club also has a trifold handout brochure that tells all about our club & the Model "A" hobby. As I said in my prior post, it is the local clubs...
