Judging Class For The Original

With MARC ,not a separate class, usually 'Judged' with the Fine Point Cars.

Probably the most difficult.

In MAFCA, Original class is judged alone with the Blue Ribbon and Touring class. I like judging the Originals first, so my team can see how Model As were originally built.

MAFCA does not offer a class for judges in how to judge Original unrestored Model A's. The Original class does have requirements that a vehicle must meet to be in the class.

Yes, since Marc and mafca have a joint partnership in the judging standards they both have an original class outlined in the standards

The Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards has a section called "Judging the Model A Ford". In this section you will find many differences between MARC and MAFCA. MARC has an Original Unrestored Class and MAFCA has an Original Class. They are almost the same.

In my opinion, original "A's" & "AA's" are not properly recognized by national judging classes. Giving these vehicles national recognition will encourage keeping them original, especially since the cost of a restoration has become unaffordable for many enthusiasts.

In MARC they are judged alongside the fine point cars in original class. They use the same set of standards as fine point and take note of the condition of each part as that it is 100 years old. There is also a Roger Kauffman award selected by a group of judges that is awarded to the original car that Roger would have liked most for its originality. There is usually 1-2 original cars per year in MARC judging. It is great to see these cars as they were built, paint puddles and paint runs, uneven pin stripes ect.
