    Transmission locked in Reverse

You said you put a new rear end in the car then the trouble with being stuck in reverse. Was it a rebuilt rear? Did you rebuild it with a new ring and pinion? The ring gear can be installed on the wrong side of the pinion causing only reverse! Just a thought. Mollydog

    Steering wheel

I had a scared and scratched wheel on my car. I removed the wheel first then I used simple green to clean it first, repaired the marks with body filler, sanded it with 600 grit wet or dry and the painted it with two coats of Dupli-color black caliper paint. Yes, caliper paint! Gives a nice...

Dual Carb Options for Miller Over Head

I have a VERY stout "B" motor with a Miller OHV head. I found a pair of 97's work best for me and are easy to tune. Great street performance. At first I tried 94's that I had. Never could get that thing to run right. Sell them on Ebay, some guys love them. Mollydog

    Snapping sound under load.

I had a similar problem/sound, drove me crazy. The snapping sound came from the timing gear. The gear finally separated from the hub. It was a fiber type gear. The engine will run normal then, when your far from home... Time to call a tow truck. Mollydog

    Painting vinyl slip covers

I used the vinyl dye from Eastwood Co, (Check website). I used it on the seats and door panels to change the color. Works GREAT, does not get sticky in the heat and has worn well. I highly recommend it. Also easy to use. Work must be clean first. I use Simple Green to scrub the seats first...

    Stromberg 97 Jetting

I have a Mallory dual point distributor and a new coil from NAPA. I have Champion W-10 plugs in it, they were in it when I got the car. I assume they are to cold. I'll see if I can get some W-18"s and see if that helps. I also found I have TWO different main jets in the carb! Don't know where...

    Stromberg 97 Jetting

I also have a vintage Crager head. Stromberg jets are stock. I have a problem with the plugs sooting up in a very short time. Also black soot in the tailpipe. What sparkplugs are you using? Other than that the engine runs fine. Mollydog

Valve Adjustment on a Miller head

I just got my 30' Tudor running. It had a Miller Hi-Speed head installed (OHV conversion). I checked the valve clearances and set them at .012 as recommended. With the engine running there is a lot of Clackety-clackety noise like the valves are too loose! Does anyone have experience with this...

adapter t-5 transmission to model a moter

I'm just finishing my T-5 conversion. I used a belhousing from Graeme McNeill, Mac's Speedshop in New Zealand. Pricy but a good quality piece. Annoying Rattle in my '30 Coupe

I had a rattle that drove me nuts. Checked everything like you did. Sounded like it was coming from the right side near the dash. Turned out to be the tailpipe hanger. I loosened the clamp and installed some fiber heat tape (Like you use on headers). No more noise, Ahhhh. But now I can hear my...

    Rear Radius Rod Strengthening

I want to thank everyone for there advice. I bought a half completed project that had a T-5 in it. I thought that would be a good fit for me since I have arthritis in both knee's and double clutching is painful. It's either that or drive a new lexus and watch everyone having fun in there "A"...

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

Larry, I don't have any pictures of the inside of the water pump as it is back on the engine. The Radiator is a three row and seems to be clear. I think my pump may be a little unique as it is on a Miller head. The gooseneck is mounted to the pump body, not like the "A" or "B" Pumps. Someone...

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

After modifying the water pump and putting in a thermostat I took my car out today and ran it about 40 miles. When I got home I checked the radiator and presto! the water was the same level, just over the baffle, as it was when I started out. So I think the water out the overflow problem has...

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

Bergy, Thanks, I'll check for the same problem. I did put in in a thermostat and drilled the impeller vanes with a 3/16" hole and put a radius on them. It rained all day today so I couldn't take it for a test. I hope to give it a good run tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Mollydog

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

Thank you Richard. I thought I was going nuts with the four vane impeller. I think I'll order a rebuild kit with the three blade impeller. Thanks again. Mollydog
