The third brush is located under the cover ring at the rear of the generator. The cover ring must be removed to see and adjust the third brush.

I understand that material must be removed from the valve stem in order to set the correct valve lash. The valve grinder that I have access to is very old and it does not have an attachment for grinding valve stems. I am wanting to find out other methods that can be used to grind the vave stems...

Now that we have delt with the Model A valve grinding question.:D What methods can be used to properly fit the length of the stock valve stem, including proper clearence from the seat to the stock non adjustable lifter?

When Model A valve seats are ground should a single angle grind be used or a multi angle grind to narrow the seats ?

I was told years ago that the threads on the Motometer were Whitworth threads but have not checed this out. Maybe some reserch is do here. Dont mean to confuse the issue further just relating what I was told. Cheers,

Bob is right it is the Ford part number for the lower part of the bracket that holds the steering column to the bottom of the gas tank. Also known as "Support-steering column-lower" in the ford parts and price list. Good question, there are no stupid questions.

Like Tom W and Redbird I found leather cup washers just perfect for my Model A tire pumps,at a local Hardware store.They were in a drawer in a metal cabinet near the plumbing supplies,faucet washers, etc.

I attempted to stop a leak from the rear of the outer u joint cover as you have suggested. I did get the leak out the rear cover to stop,:) but oil continued to escape from the transmission and over powered the upper torque tube seal flooding the rear end and leaking through the axel cover seal...

An Oil Pressure Gauge on your Model A just gives you something more to worry about.
