    Brake Shoe Roller Pins

Thanks so much Tom. Now I understand and with Ted's pins it makes sense to use the lining centering tool as you have a way to adjust to center if nessary. I will buy both. Should be an interesting test and fix if necessary. Good brakes are so important that a few extra bucks is well worth the...

    Brake Shoe Roller Pins

Doing a complete brake job and would like to know if brake shoe roller pins are supposed to rotate on the roller track as the brake lever is activated. Mine don't rotate but the brake shoe rollers do roll. I just read in Bratton's catalog that the roller pins ride on the roller track and the pin...

Is this commonly being done? How important is it? How are roller tracks being bent as Les suggests to adjust...

    Light switch problem.

I had the same problem after changing the steering box the distance to the spider claws must have changed. I noticed the spider no longer engaged the rotating switch. I noticed the collar was too long when compared to a known good one. Solution was to grind down the cola about 1/8 in. Hope this...

    Purchasing an A...red flags

Using a friend, leaving the trailer a few blocks away and having all cash (which I forgot to say) got the deal done on a beautiful coupe for 10k instead of the 12k asking price. Ray in Illinois

    Purchasing an A...red flags

Be sure to trailer it home on a flat bed. I did some 40 miles and on 1st local trip it just quit moving. The clutch plates broke apart and I hat to trailer it back home. Also go with a friend so you can leave the trailer a few blocks away so you don't loose your negotiating strength. Also if it...

    Antifreeze Loss Mystery

Thanks Tom. I will try your idea of back flushing with radiator upsidedown, also look at thermostat to see if stuck open but 1st I'll try Les Andrews idea of plugging radiator inlet and outlet and then fill radiator to see how much water it takes. He says it should take 1.5 gals and drain in 4...

    Light Switch

An update on earlier posts I made on my lights and horn working intermittentlly. I tried numerous fixes but the one that fixed both issues was to grind the collar of the upper light switch body down 1/8 in. The collar was longer when compared to other collars I measured. This change allowed the...

    Horn Issues

I also noticed when I had a firm connection between the horn rod tip and switch contact there was a much louder and much better "Ahooooga" sound. Great to have the horn working again because the neigborhood kids love the sound and always yell for it as I go buy. Ray in Illinois
