I have a '29 ccpu with an odd-looking horn. Is this a standard Model A horn or something out of a previous owner's parts bin? It works and sounds like a bull bellowing rather than a sharp high tone. Any ideas as to the origin? No markings on the case at all. :confused:

Thanks for the good information on removing the trim. Soaked the back of the trim with a lot of WD40 and waited about an hour. Tapping with a block on both sides got it moving. Carefully tapping got the trim off with no damage to the trim! Thanks! Now, looking at the way the window...

Found this laying in the bottom of my 1929 Ford CCPU transmission after I removed it yesterday. Anybody have a clue what it is? :confused: It's a little over 2" long and 3/4" wide with a riveted post that is about 3/4" tall.

Removing the U-J was the way to go! Got the trans out without too much trouble. Didn't need to mess with the brake cross-shaft. Thanks for all the great advice. Now, I've got to get busy and clean 80 years of grease out of the bell housing. Oh, joy!

Thanks for the advice from everyone. This morning will remove the U-J and see if we can't clear the brake cross-shaft. I've been very careful to keep the trans supported on a floor jack to keep the weight off the front shaft. After we get the trans out, changing the clutch should be a breeze!
