    1946 front door weatherstrip placement

Bruce, could I get this dimension from you? I am having a go around with the manufacturer that there is a difference between the short door and the longer door length of the strip.

    1946 front door weatherstrip placement

I rephased by search to "door seal" and found 12 pages of information. Probably enough information to get me where I have to be. Sounds like if it functions and looks good, it is good.

    1946 front door weatherstrip placement

I am installing the door weatherstrips. A tense day today because I had to remove the doors to get the ones at the hinge glued in. Doors are back on the car, no chips or dings on the cowl trim. I have searched the catalogs and have the correct orientation of the above door and back of door...

    1946 front door assembly procedure

Thanks Bruce MO. I got all the felts and "U" runs installed. But the real question was loading the door with all the goodies. After an hour and a half of trying different things, I got it! The other door took just 10 minutes! I will share. Stainless front of window guide through the rear hole of...

How many left? 36 3 window coupes

In 2016, I went on a car tour near Bennington, VT. We stopped at a gent's place who was a retired Farmall tractor salesman. He had all the number F tractors in one building, and Chevelles, brass Chevys, and early Fords in another. One of those was a pea green, brown interior 1935 three window...

Dearborn Blue Dupont or PPG recent paint codes?

Try Auto color library. Is part of TCP Global. Even though I had the PPG code for 1946 dark slate grey poly, my local PPG person could not mix it.

1958 two door sedan garnish molding removal

I might have found an answer. There are some moldings on eBay and if I zoom in on the pictures, there appears to be two tabs hanging on the bottom. So, think if I pull the top out and lift up, the garnish molding will come free. I'll let you know.

1958 two door sedan garnish molding removal

We removed all the screws holding the rear side window garnish molding on and thought it would just come off easily. It seems to still have something holding it. We don't want to pull to hard and bend something. Is there something we are missing?

    Early Mercury block vs 59A

I bought this lower engine block a few years ago and was told it was 59ab like. I did not know what I was looking at. No "59" cast in the bell area. This is what is there. Does anyone know what I have? January 31st, 1944, 11th hour? It is bored out .060, has aluminum pistons, and adjustable...

    Union Pacific Big Boy

I got in to see it Monday morning. Very impressed with the size. Clean and grease every night? Also was able to go into the back restoration shops. I took a bus into the transportation center that is right in front of the tracks. It took an hour in the line to snake around the parking lots. I...

'40 Ford interior kick panels/trunk liner panels

I have a lot of respect for the information from people on this site, that is why I am here. I went to the Clayton NY meet last year with a long time Early V8 member who thought I could learn a lot about the restoration of my car. I asked if I could shadow their judging of the cars, they said...

    '46 headliner

I went hunting for a headliner vendor. After dealing with confusion with a couple, eBay vendor "okheadliners" fixed me up. Sample matched the restoration guide, no issues with long door/ short door, model 72/77, or business coupe/ sedan coupe. It arrived very quickly. Price was good. The...

    '46 headliner

I mocked the mouse holed one in and it fits. Red parts book calls for 4 full length bows, the sedan coupe 5 full. The problem is the picture the company I am talking with, are using on their website showing a full-length bow in the middle of the quarter window. Mine does not have that and this...

    '46 headliner

I just opened a bag that had a LeBaron Bonney headliner in it. MICE. Bagged since 1992. I am now searching for a replacement one for the business coupe. It is amazing the misinformation that vendors have. I wish they would classify the bodies as 72 or 77 as Henry did. Or say long door or short...
