    Splash Apron Fabrication

Sorry for the confusion. I’ve seen them called a few different names so I really wasn’t sure. I see now that at least one vendor calls them splash shields. My truck is a 31 and they are the one piece style, so I believe they are late 31??. Anyway, these pictures do help. I’ll be able to dial in...

    Splash Apron Fabrication

I’m trying to salvage as many original parts as possible. It’s a project so I enjoy the extra work.

    Splash Apron Fabrication

Would someone be able to post a similar picture of the back end of a good splash apron? I need to repair this area and don’t have a good example of what it should look like (cutouts, bolt holes, etc.). TIA!

    Shock Link Balls

Does anyone have a reliable source for the rubber shock link balls used with the 34/35 same-side dog bone shock links? When I look online, it says the part number is B-18060, but when I ordered that part number from a supplier, they sent me the smaller A-18060 balls used on the model As with the...

    Cowl Support Rebuild

It’s just the last few inches of the extensions that I’d like to fabricate and weld in. And I do have the rubber pads for the wood blocks, I just didn’t include them in the sketch.

    Cowl Support Rebuild

I need to replace the front cowl supports on my 31 pickup cab. Both sides are completely gone. I know that front support dips down a bit, but I don’t know how much. With the cab sitting on the wood blocks, are there any landmarks that I can measure from to know where the bottom foot needs to be...

    Tight Steering

I made a couple of minor adjustments to the steering box and two of the links and it’s better now. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    Toe in

I 3D printed these clips that attach to the tires with rubber bands. Measurement is taken with a tape measure. They have small posts on the underside that fit into the treads to help hold them in place and the one has a magnet to help hold the end of the tape measure in place.

    Tight Steering

The spindles turned freely when I worked on them, with and without weight on them. The tie rod ends were probably the tightest individual components because of the new rubber seals. Plus I'm not sure if the end caps are too tight since the instructions in the red book (25% compression) are...

    Tight Steering

I just finished disassembling, cleaning, greasing and reassembling my entire front end from spindles to steering box, including new rubber seals on the tie rods and adjusting the steering box on the bench. When I was done, I was just surprised at how tight the steering was with the front wheels...

For Sale Looking to trade Waltham parts

Reaching out to the guys who rebuild speedometers. I have this busted oval Waltham speedometer that I’m looking to trade for a working odometer cluster from a round Waltham (or at least as many good wheels and gear discs as possible). The frame is broken, but it looks like most of the internal...

    Waltham Odometer

I’m looking for an odometer cluster or a few individual odometer wheels for a round Waltham speedometer that I’m rebuilding. Or even a whole speedometer that’s in bad shape as long as I can salvage the odometer. TIA!

    AI and Model A's

It’s helpful for visualizing colors and some fabrication ideas. I’m rebuilding a 31 pickup that doesn’t have a bed and I wanted to do something unique but period appropriate, so I’m thinking about building wooden tool boxes to form the bed sides. This is what copilot came up with. It’s pretty...

    Pickup Bed Options

I’m rebuilding a ‘31 pickup that I purchased with no bed. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on an original roached bed that will need a lot of work, so I was thinking about doing something unique, budget friendly and appropriate for the time period. I thought about doing a mini version of an...

    Anti-Rattle Spring Issue

I’m trying to assemble the anti-rattle springs on my brake rods and I’m finding that there’s not enough room to install the smaller spring on the e-brake rods because the balls seem too close together as compared to the picture in the Les Andrew’s book. The smaller spring interferes with the...
