1948 6 cyl sedan brake pedal retracting spring

Will a V-8 brake pedal retracting spring work in place of one for a 226H six cylinder engine? The "green bible" gives part # 6HA-2456 for the "H" engine. If not can someone tell me the length of the 6 cylinder spring. Thanks

    1948 window anti-rattle felt

I ordered 1/4" thick glass for the doors and quarter windows. Is it possible that I need 3/16" thick glass? Did Ford use 3/16" glass? Screw holes for the vent window panel seem to be off about a 1/16 of an inch. Also, I had a hard time getting the bottom track on the door and quarter glasses...

    1948 window anti-rattle felt

I did buy my glass from Sanders and it was too tall. I did the same as you and took it to a local glass shop and they trimmed it to the right size. I can adjust mine to roll up and down fine until I put the vent glass assembly in and then it binds the glass so that it won't move.

    1948 window anti-rattle felt

I am using a Vintique kit. I tried adjusting the track but doesn't help much. I had a hard time getting the vent window panels in at the bottom and the screw holes didn't line up well. I'm using the original panels and doors on the car. Very puzzling.

    1948 window anti-rattle felt

Hi, I installed new door glasses and new anti-rattle strips on my 1948 two door. When I install the panel with the vent glass and new anti-rattle strips it seems to pinch the window and makes it very hard to roll up and down. I installed the strips even with the top of the panels and door. I...

    1948 sedan door questions

Thanks for the info Bruce Mo. About 3/8" from the top edge of the door makes sense because the upper door seal on the body is about 3/8" wide. I don't have the clips like your '46 does because there is no trim around the windows on my car so I probably need to move the back seal back...

    1948 sedan door questions

Hi, Two questions: first is about the back edge of door weatherstrip - How far up the back of the door does it go? My other question is about the bottom window channel - Does the tab on the end of the channel go toward the front or the back of the door? I've attached a couple of pictures to...

I am replacing the 1/4 windows on my 48 tudor sedan. I am replacing the interior so I have removed the trim panels and the panels that the regulators bolt to. Should I have the regulator in the down or up position when attaching the glass to the regulator? I'm assuming down so that the glass...
