Assist strap material/fabric

I have a 1948 2 door sedan with grey interior. Since Cartouche no longer reupholsters assist straps or any interior work. does any one know where I can get the correct material to get them done locally. I contracted them to try and purchase just the material that I needed. They told me everything was on hold. I no longer have the originals to go by. I do have a tan set from a '46 to use as a pattern but not sure what the grey fabric looks like. Any help would be appreciated.

Classtique sells materials by the yard but I don't know what those straps were made with. If they are a vinyl like material then I don't know. Ford was still using what I refer to as faux leather book cloth material made with pigmented pyroxylin material.

This is what the ones on my '46 Super Deluxe look like. I could get more pics if needed, but it may take a few days, as the car is stored for our Great White Winter here in Northern Ontario.

They are generally a web type strap with a durable cloth or vinyl cover sewn on and a belt loop also added up close to the grommet that attaches it to the body. The belt loop cover is a way to sew the two ends together below the grommet there so that it looks more presentable.

The cloth should be a type that can be cleaned easily. Grubby hands can take there toll on trim stuff like this.

I went to a random local furniture upholstery shop with the soiled original from my '46 Deluxe. It didn't take long to settle on a gray webbed material that normally is used to hold springs in place. There wasn't any covering on mine. The shop used the original as a guide for size, stitching, and hardware placement. It turned out great and was about $30, as I recall.
