Widebed Box on 1931 Stepped Frame

Thanks for the reply. The truck is going on a chassis that is already done with a step. I was just wondering what people do when they wish to retain a useable space on a stepped chassis. If anyone has done this I’d love to see some pics. Thanks, Bill

Widebed Box on 1931 Stepped Frame

Hi, the box I have is different than yours. It is taller, longer and wider. It doesn’t use wooden blocks, rather wooden rails. The wood rails run front to back at the bottom, under the crossmembers of the box. I can’t raise the bed at all as this type is at the belt line of the cab to begin...

Widebed Box on 1931 Stepped Frame

Yes, that’s what on the retro box. They’re quite thick; close to the step on the back of the frame. Bill

Widebed Box on 1931 Stepped Frame

Help! I have a reproduction widebed box for my 31 Closed Cab pickup. The frame is stepped the 2.5-3 inches of the height of the frame in the rear. Any suggestions how to mount the box as I’m thinking the wide oak sub rails will interfere? I need to still be able to carry a load in it...

A Timing Cover on B engine

Thanks Bob C! Problem Solved!! That link showed the cover I have as being a Model 40/46 33 or 34 cover. I'll try and find a B cover from a 32! Nice work, Vince; those images are awesome! Bill

Adjustable Tappets Base Diameter Info Needed

I'm wondering if the double lock adjustable lifters on a rebuilt engine a cousin bought are right. It is a B engine and the lifter base looks tiny compared to original. I know I've been told to only put the single lock type in. I looked at the cam in the rebuild and can't tell if it's reground...

A Timing Cover on B engine

I knew about the timing pin location, but the cover I took off a B engine didn't have the two mounting lugs anywhere near the Model A location. These are an inch or so higher and wider. Maybe the cover is a 33 or 34? A wide strap type mount about 21 inches was on it.

A Timing Cover on B engine

Hi, We're putting a B engine in a '31 A and it looks like we need to use the A cover to accomodate the front engine mount. Am I correct in thinking this is the best route? Thanks in advance. Bill

    Model B Engine into a 31 Tudor

 Hi folks, A cousin has bought a fresh stock rebuilt B engine for his 31 Tudor. What are the main requirements for this swap? We need it all!! Keeping costs reasonable is a requirement, so here are a couple questions. Should we put an A flywheel that is lightened on it or a B flywheel...

1938 One Ton Express Front Sheetmetal

Thanks fellas! I plan on making it a flatbed, so the box details don't matter. I guess if I find a pair of half ton front fenders, I'd prefer that and do whatever is required to make it look smaller. I know I need to do something to lower it; maybe passenger car front spring and axle? What...

1938 One Ton Express Front Sheetmetal

Hi, I'm wondering what parts are required to put the 1/2 ton front fenders on a '38 Ford 1 ton truck? Will they even fit the cab? Also, can I use the hood and side panels from the one ton truck with the smaller front fenders? Thanks in advance for the help! Bill

What To Do With a Nice 1932 B Sedan

Many thanks for your ideas! I hadn't thought of the single downdraft 94 or 97. I may continue to add power to the four and see how it feels power wise. Maybe it's still tight (about 2000 miles since rebuild) and may feel more responsive with some miles on it. I like the overdrive idea too...

What To Do With a Nice 1932 B Sedan

 I have a nice two door sedan, B powered and am trying to figure out how to make it keep up with traffic a bit better. The car runs nice with the four, 12 volt setup but has 4.11 gears and cruises at 45 mph max. I am considering doing the brakes with Richard's hydraulic conversion...

Who Makes the 32 Pedals for Hydraulics?

Help!! Someone was making replacement pedal assemblies for the '32 Ford with the arm from the brake pedal already moved to accomodate putting 1940 type hydraulics on. Do any of you know this website? They also made the lower hose offsets to fit an 8BA in. I have a nice old 32 2 door Model B...
