    Transmission

    Years agoIhada1930A coupe and with the trans ion 3rd gear you could lift up on the shift handle and move it all the way over with the trqns still in gear. I know have a 1929 sports coupe and Iam not able to do this did all Model A,s have this function?

    Back in the 50.s I had a model A 1930 coupe. with the trans in 3rd gear I could pull up the shift lever and move it all the way to the right. I now have a 1929 spots coupe and I can not do this. Were all Model A,s able to do this?

    When i push the starter rod nothing happens. I have good connections and 6V at the starter cable. If I take the cap off at the starter is there a brass connection that engages when you push the rod that could be corded or something else? Thanks The voltage does npt drop when I push the rod so...

    1940 Ford V8 ID

    I have a FH v/8 which is said to have come from a 1940 Ford. The heads are stamped A. The bell housing has a 2/8 with a O(or D) above it and a 2 below it. It has the 2 cap dist. and a model 94 carb. The fan is bolted to the crankshaft. Are these correct for a 40 Ford? It has a 3speed top loader...

    securing generator

    I have tightened the bolt at the bottom of the generator as tight as I can but the generator will loosen on the belt after a few minutes of running. Am I missing something? there is no bracket that goes between the gen and the motor as this is on other engines. Thank you

    Does the upper oil pump/dist. shaft receive oil ? When I removed mine it was very dry.

    When I took my red Winfield 7-1 head out of storage it had a set of Trojan spark plugs in it googled them and it looks' like they were popular back in THE 30,has anyone ever heard of them?

    The cyl. head on my Model is cracked I have a good red Winfield 7.1 head that I purchased in 1955 and never used. Would in be advisable to use this head? Would it be to much compression for a stock A? Are those old Red Winfield heads worth anything? Thanks
