    Crab vaccuum brake rubber seal

I dug out the remains of the seal between the crab body and the block and found it to be about 1/4 inch deep. Obviously too deep for an O ring. I guess the seal is like a short cut piece of rubber pipe?

Sometimes I get tired of it

Of people who parrot or repeat things they hear without trying it or experimenting themselves. I have read 100/s of times the virtue of 50/50 acetone/ATF mix as an alternative to branded name concoctions. Well, I tried it, and IT DOES NOT WORK . It evaporates almost...

    Oz NSW brake testing

Dunno about other states, but here in NSW, we have to have a yearly inspection which involves an electronic brake test . My last build has solid core sparkplug wires, and it upsets their machine. The first dude to try to a brake test a year ago was almost crying when he found out I...

    Victoria Australia rumble seat rules

Oz calls a rumble seat a dicky seat but nonetheless... Was at our biggest swap meet Bendigo on the weekend and there was a very nice 1935 English ford coupe there for sale. It had a rumble seat (fited with seat belts) and he said that Victoria has banned anyone riding in any rumble...

My bus diff is leaking prob from the middle gasket area. I guess it is the same as a truck of the same era? Am going to clean it right up today and see exactly where. If I have to separate the housing halves, I guess it is going to be a big job. Was curious if I could undo one...

Are 59A heads the same both sides?

If they are sided, I hope I have not put them back on wrong. I put the one with number ending in LH on the 5678 side, USA driver's side, and did not really take much notice of the other, thinking it ended in RH. I saw another motor yesterday and I saw that the other one ends in...

    C69A oil pump

I forgot to take a pic of the oil pump before I put the sump on and wanted to ask a Q. I believe this engine is a 46 Canadian truck engine. The pump has an extension sticking out the side of the housing, I guess for an inbuilt relief valve. Also when checking it besides a...

    46 239 crank bigend size.

I think I may need a crank grind. Will do some measuring this morning. I bought some std bearings and they say to suit 2,138. I see on the van pelt site that the size is 2.139. I think i have come across a size of 2.138 - 2.139 allowing a 1 thou tolerance. If I grind .010 under...
