    Getting a title in Michigan

I know the process for getting a title in Michigan, but my problem is the appraisal to establish the value of the vehicle-the cutoff point is $2500, where a surety bond is required above that figure. I have a rough, non-running " Barn find" '25 Tudor sedan. The online NADA has Model T's, but...

    covering a Huckster roof

I have the roof covering material, padding, and plenty of Hide'm. My roof is about 9 feet long. Does anyone who has done this job before have any tips to help me keep from making a mess of the job?

    Hudco Pedal Slip-Out cover

This transmission cover happened to be on an engine I got yesterday. From what I've been googling about it, it seems to be a useful item.

    correct size tires?

I have what I think is a '24 sedan. It had demountable split rims all around, and 4.40-4.50x21 tires on all the wheels (well, what's left of the tires, anyway) What should I have on this car? 30x 3 1/2 , or the same size that is on it now?

    replacing spokes

I'm completely new to Model Ts. I just got a '24 Tudor Sedan. Three of the whhels are in good shape, with (flat)tires still on them, but the fourth wheel was like this, sitting in the dirt. I see replacement spokes for sale, but I also read where this may be too difficult for me to replace. Can...

    New T owner

I am getting a '25 Tudor Model T tomorrow (in trade for a Model A I have). It's a non-running barn find. I know absolutely nothing about them, other than always wanting one. I've been fooling around with old cars and motorcycles for many, many years, so I'm not totally clueless, but what are the...

    Calm before the storm...

We have had a couple of beautiful, warm days here in Michigan, but a massive snowstorm is reportedly looming on the horizon. I spent these days rebuilding the whole undercarriage of my '31 pickup-it was totally and completely worn out as I got it last fall. All new bushings for the shackles in...

    A differential question...

Back when I got my old Fordor, one rear drum was rusted to the brake shoes, so in getting that drum off, I removed the key in the shaft, and replaced the drum without the brakes for the time being. Now I've got it running again, but I have a question: Without that key in one of the rear brake...

is this a Model A windshield?

I have this windshield I picked up at a swap meet, that I was planning to use on my Huckster. It's not quite like the ones on my '30 Fordor or '31 PU. It's marked "Motor Products", and it's a flat frame, with a channel for a seal around 3 sides. Is it aftermarket "A", or is it for a later Ford?

    '30 sidemount arm hole size

I'm unable to find via search what size of hole I have to cut in the splash shield for the spare tire arm. I've made up a tapered plug with a center hole to locate the center on the shield-now all I need is the size of the necessary hole saw. Can anyone help me?

    My Dad's Model A in 1941

I recently found this slide of my Dad's first car in 1941 (when he was 17). Rather suprisingly, I bought the same exact model, without ever seeing this photo. Color slides from before WW2 are a bit rare, but this is still a pretty good photo. Check out all the 'custom' features, like the...

Where did I put those spring perch nuts?

Oh well, no matter,I'll just weld them... I'm taking the front end apart on my '30 Huckster, and came across this farmer fix. Fortunately, I picked up a very nice bunch of front end parts on CL recently, and I don't have to deal with these welded spring perches.

    Paypal

Are there any parts suppliers that accept Paypal? I sell stuff on eBay, and keep a balance on Paypal, which I use for buying things. I've been to a number of the big seller's sites, but no one seems to take Paypal.

    When your car was new

As I was looking at that photo of the Rouge plant, I noticed a car like mine, and wondered if it could really be mine. Does anyone here have a photo of their car when it was brand-new,in '28-31? Not a photo of a model like yours,of course, but the same exact car 80+ years ago?

    A question about roofs

I just got a '30 155-D, and I really know nothing at all about Model As. As I'm stripping out all the old (non-original) interior, I've been wondering: What was the purpose of the "leather" -covered roof? It obviously didn't open or anything. It seems to have served no purpose to me. Why didn't...

    Another new owner

Hello For many, many years, I always wanted a Model A. I got sidetracked by lots of other things like motorcycles, tractors, and military vehicles, but the interest in As was always there in the back of my mind. Well, I finally decided to act on that, and found this '31 (so the title says). The...
