Paypal

Are there any parts suppliers that accept Paypal? I sell stuff on eBay, and keep a balance on Paypal, which I use for buying things. I've been to a number of the big seller's sites, but no one seems to take Paypal.

They have to pay too much to paypal for the service, and most likely are not offered incentives. Transfer to your checking acct. and mail them a check or ditto with your credit card.

I stopped using paypal a long time ago ... If the seller does not take U.S.Post office money order then i do not bid... I only can across 1 seller that turned me down...He did not know the rules,, if the buyer ask first then the seller can take other payments other then paypal. I left paypal when ebay bought them... and then the charges then went up..

Try contacting whichever vendor you're inclined to do business with. The worst he can do is say no.........

PAYPAL offers a debit Mastercard which will allow you to pay for items using just the money in your PAYPAL account (you can link it to another bank account if you want to, but you don't have to). It can be used just like a regular Mastercard and can also be used at an ATM to draw cash out of your PAYPAL account. They also give a cash back reward at the end of the month for using this as a Mastercard. I use mine all the time and really like it.

AND if they DON'T take Pay Pal i don't do business with them, Pay Pal allows protection for the seller and buyer, With a money order you have NO protection at all if something goes wrong.
And as a business and member of pay pal since its acceptance it is fast, easy and great to use. and at 2.2% of the sale...sorry no other merchant can meet that on an online sale....its just part of doing business today..
Mikes Affordable or any other merchant take master card, which is available as a debit card FREE from pay pal...

Dont fear the future....its here already@!

I agree with this, I think Paypal is high however there is no safer way to pay or be paid. I was pretty much screwed on a high dollar camera(2300.00) when I returned it to the seller for repair. He basically ignored my request to returned the repaired camera or refund my money. PayPal stepped in and got me my refund, without them I think I would have been SOL.

Actually paypal costs the same as accepting credit cards or about 3%.

As an amateur seller I like it because most people want to pay with a credit card. I don't have a credit card account to take it directly. It lets you take foreign currency as well. It sure is convenient as a buyer.

If you keep paypal below $500 a month, you don't pay any fees. However, the buyer can't charge your item thru paypal to a credit card, it must come out of a bank account. I had a hard time explaining this to buyers. After I went over $500 in one month I was stuck, I had to start paying the 3%. And as one forum member taught me, send money as a gift for no charge as well.

I dislike it because of the 3% so I jack up the fixed shipping cost a little to cover it. Beware here as well, if the buyer disputes his credit card charge, you are out the money.

Beware postal MOs. I refuse to pay with postal money orders. The moron post office lost two of my letters with money orders 3 years ago. Guess what, you have to pay $5 and it takes 6 months to get a refund. 3 years later one of the letters with the MO turned got delivered. The $60 never did and I lost the receipt so I'm out the $60. You don't have this hassle with personal checks. I can wait until it clears the seller's account.

More businesses are starting to take paypal. It is very convenient ordering as you don't have to fill out an order form.

I think paypal is still the safest way to pay and get payment. I sell on e-bay and most of it is paid with paypal. I sold a book last week and was asked if I would accept a money order. I said that was fine and today the mail came and the postman told my wife she owed $5.45 for an overnight envelope. She paid and then realized it was the money order for the book. I am not sure how he sent it without paying on his end but it sure took the profit out of the sale for me.

You sent him the book? I wouldn't without demanding the postage.

I use Paypal and charge to my credit card. I would never give anyone access to my debit account so this cannot be true.

There are two levels of personal seller service at paypal(at least there was a couple years ago when I started selling on ebay). Those with volume always below $500 a month and those with greater than $500 a month for at least one month. Less than $500 a month you can't accept credit card payments, only paypal balances or bank account transfers. The first month I went over $500 I had to start paying fees.

Perhaps my explanation isn't the best. This is from paypal about fees:

PayPal doesn't charge a fee to open a PayPal account. It's free within the U.S. to send money to family and friends when you use only your PayPal balance or bank account, or a combination of their PayPal balance and bank account.

There is a fee to send money as a personal payment using a debit card or credit card. The fee in the U.S. is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you send.

For personal payments, the sender can pay the fee or pass it on to the recipient. If the recipient doesn't want to pay the fee, they can choose not to accept the payment.

It's free to receive money from friends or family in the U.S. when they send the money from the PayPal website using only their PayPal balance or their bank account, or a combination of their PayPal balance and bank account.

If you receive a personal payment made from a debit card or credit card, and the fee passed on to you and you accept, it is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive. This fee also applies if you click Request Money on the PayPal website and request money from friends and family. Theres no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services. However, if you receive money for goods or services (such as from selling an item on eBay), the fee for each transaction is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive. There is a fee when you send a payment to someone in another country or if you receive a payment from someone in another country. Please note that exchange rate fees also apply if there is a currency conversion. The Fees section of the PayPal User Agreement has specific information. You can find the User Agreement by clicking Legal Agreements at the bottom of any PayPal page. You can withdraw money from your PayPal account to your bank account at no cost. If you prefer to receive a check, there is a $1.50 fee. Note that unfortunately, weve had to stop allowing personal payments to be sent to and from India. If youre sending money for a personal payment to India, we ask that you find another way to pay until were able to restore personal payments to this area.
