I have done a few of these many years ago but my memory tends to forget all but the traumatic, struggles, pain ect. Lol. My 59 4x4 pickup sat for at least 25 years before I saved it. Now the rear main is puking oil, surprise surprise. The factory manual only shows the installation with the block...
I remember that a lot of the records were destroyed but just out of curiosity are there any records that show how many 122" wheelbase tonner panel trucks were built in the 1940 model year? thanks
What automatics can I bolt to a 260? I have a spare that I was saving to rebuild for my 29 but now thinking about putting it in my 62 Ranchero. Can I just bolt a small block C4 up with fewer bolts? 4 of them line up? thanks
If I want to switch my 36 Coupe to 35 grill, will I basically need the whole front or is there any parts that are the same? Just curious, always liked the 35 grill better and the car is still in field find condition, as yet to be started on
I have a couple big blocks I might play with, both decent running engines. Budget stuff, not full on rebuilds. #1 is a 71 Merc 429 2 bbl. with D0VE heads. The other is about a 1990 F250 4x4 with a ZF. I'd like to slide the big block and ZF into my 59 F250 4x4. Efi engines have no carb heat...
Within a few weeks I'll have my 36 5 window legal and want to get started on it. One of the first things I'd like to do is fill the roof and was wondering what vehicle donor would make a good filler panel. thanks
I finally got the Dana 24 swapped for a 205, had to fab new mounting plates. I haven't taken it past the city limits but everything seems good. Runs and stops great. Just a joy to drive. Kind of a slow boat with the 4.56 gears. Looking for a set of the optional 19.5 wheels.
Anyone have parts that could help me patch this up? Not looking to slick it out or restore, going to leave it in as found patina. The aftermarket patch don't cover my damaged area. thanks
I scored a field find 36 Deluxe coupe yesterday. Engine is missing but it has a transmission. I have acess 40 truck engine or a 42 truck engine, what would I need to bolt one up?
I bought several engines out of an old shop this week, 2 of them are Y blocks and since it was an old ranch with all old trucks setting around, my first assumption is they are truck/pickup engines. The one is pretty obviously truck. It has Holley 4 bbl and the big pressed on double groove...
I'm swapping the Dana 24 T-case for a 205 from a 75. I remember doing this swap once 30 years ago and the speedometer connections are different. Any advice on connecting the cable? Also does anyone have the part numbers for the U joints? Not Ford numbers but spicer. thanks
I have an old 62 Ranchero sitting out back and I'm trying to find the right carb. I have several Holley singles but only the smaller base ones have a manual choke. Maybe the engine was changed, I have no idea if it's 140 or 170.
So to start with does anyone have the stud hole measurement for a...
I took it for my first spin around the yard today and the transfer case jumps out of high range before you can get rolling. When I got it, the 4x4 shift lever was broken of so someone was rough on the stick. I do remember back 30 some years and the old highboys I drove back then shifted really...
Everyone has a favorite. I have a 59 F250 4x4 with a 292 that sat a lot of years. I have it running and have started it quite a few times, but just briefly. I whacked in some new freeze plugs and changed the filter while I had it off. I'm going to dump out the oil and wondering what's the best...
Need for my 40 tonner panel. I need the clips for the stainless grill trim. The 2 outer bars are bigger than the rest and I could make some T-bar ones to work there if I have to.
I tried some from a 35 pickup grill trim and they are just a little big to fit the insertion slot on the smaller...
For sale here is this old 47 Ford COE. It is just as I found it and has been setting many years. The old guy I bought it from said it ran good when parked and he poured oil down all the holes. Truck is basically complete except air cleaner and one of the engine side covers is missing. As you...
6.00x16. appears to have been recapped. What's the stroy on these? Did they come on cars? It's the only one I've seen. I always assumed they came with Firestones since Henry and Harvey were buddys
