Within a few weeks I'll have my 36 5 window legal and want to get started on it. One of the first things I'd like to do is fill the roof and was wondering what vehicle donor would make a good filler panel. thanks
I would take a look at the roof panels from Walden Speed Shop. Relatively inexpensive for today's world and they are spot on for shape. Just looked, they are 495.00. I've used one in my 32 delivery and in my deuce 3 window. Covered them with Hartz cloth and secured them to the wood. Looks really smooth, Not original but I like it.
If you can find a 48-53 chevy pickup/truck cab, the panel beneath the rear window will fit almost perfectly. That's what I used on my 5 window, cut it to fit inside the weather strip channel, drilled holes and used plastic push in T fasteners, a layer of padding I got at the local upholstery shop, a piece of felt over that, marine vinyl on top, held in with the original rubber. Looks great. Good luck. Rod
