    Holley 81 v8 60 carbs

I put a new motor in my model a, and somehow ended up with a pair of holley model 92 carbs, which are the holley version of the famous stromberg 81 carbs. I can't find any information on them, especially regarding stock power valves or jet sizes. I plan on running them on a gear drive intake on...

Driving along, then boom and crunch

Driving along in my 30 coupe today when all the sudden it made that sound that costs money. Far as I can tell, the rearend locked up with no warning, which in turn broke the transmission case. So now I'm on the hunt for replacement parts. Whoo!

Took my Model A to the goodguys friday night drags...

What a hoot! Managed to pass tech inspection cause the tech guy was laughing so hard. Dialed in a 28.07 at 45.7 mph. Made it through 2 rounds of eliminations before i broke out of my time running a smoking 27.89. It was a hoot, and i was such a crowd favorite that they had me run an exhibition...

Wrrrrr...Klunk. Now the starter is stuck

Went to start my A and it went Wrrrrr...clunk. thought maybe i snapped a bendix spring (12volts to a 6 volt starter) but when i put the crank in the motor, the motor wouldnt turn over. So i unbolted the starter, and it just stayed put. Nothing would make it budge. Even a B.F.H and a...

Pop pop pop...Need down draft help!

I put a burns downdraft intake on my Model A with a single 94 (model 8ba) carburator. Car is bone stock, and figured this would be a bit better carb than the leaky warped tillotson. Plus it looks neat. So i got it all set up and running this afternoon. Went to take it out for a drive and got to...

So i bought this cylinder head at a swapmeet this past weekend. They pulled it to replace it with a synder head, so i bought it to replace my cracked head. So as i was working on pulling my head, i noticed some differences. Mainly, the head i bought has a casting date of 6-11-43 and has MADE USA...

So i had a good swapmeet this past weekend, and was able to locate a solid head to cure my over heating problem (cracked head) While i was there i dropped 2 bills on an original Burns down draft manifold with carb and linkage. Is it really worth swapping it onto my stock motor in place of the...

My clutch pedal dropped. 1930 A

So i pulled the floor boards out today to adjust the fingers on my clutch, and grease the release bearing. I gave each nut one full turn, and that was enough to bring my pedal right to the top. I readjusted the linkage between the pedal and release shaft, and re-assembled everything. Hopped in...

My 2011 Flathead Reliability run attempt.

Well it seems i can never catch a break on this run. Last year i melted down my bitchin 230 flathead 6, and this year my A could not keep its cool. Didnt hurt it, but i could not keep it from boiling , so we turned around after less than 20 miles. To prepare for this run, I took out the...

    Random overheating and Fountain.

So i drive my 30' coupe Alot. So far, its only over heated on me twice, which is wierd. It has a 6 blade fan, fan shroud, and a 4 core rad. Ill be driving down the road and the temp will be fine, then all of the sudden the gauge will peg and the rad will shoot water out the top and drain almost...

So iv been driving the heck outta my 30 coupe. Over 300 miles so far in about 2 weeks. One thing i can not get rid of is the pop out the tailpipe between shifts. It doesnt do it when its cold, but after about 10 miles between shifts it has a loud backfire out the tailpipe. Seems to be worse when...
