Should the ball end of the transmission lever of a 1939 Ford car be a round 1/2 ball or does it have flat sides?

What would be the proper wire size of the pigtail that runs from the output post to the brush on a 3 brush generator? I just changed a wire for this & it seems to stiff. The brush won't spring freely. I have even bent the spring a little to try to get the brush to have more snap but no go.

Was the original lens on the Woody dome light glass or plastic?

I went for a front toe in adjustment this morning & was told that the toe in was fine but one of the king pins was about out of spec. Is it possible to replace the king pins & bushings on a 1939 sedan without messing with the brakes? I don't want to have to rebleed the system if I can avoid it.

Am I right in saying it looks like we are losing our parts for restorations? In looking at one venders site for 1939 Deluxe parts, I see a lot of "out of stock" in the lastings. I don't need some of the parts that are out of stock, It just looks like I may never get my project done.

I am looking for pictures or tracings of the rear window braket for a 1939 Deluxe Woody. Mine have been cut off on both sides of the frame. It looks like the ear the swing arm fastens to should come straight out.

I am stumped. My battery was drained. I found when I try to connect the neg. battery cable to the starter switch stud I get sparks. If I disconnect the 2 wires at the front side of the cutout, then there are no sparks when I connect the battery cable to the starter switch.
