    Open Car Top Availability

It’s time to put a new top on my Deluxe Roadster. Unfortunately, finding one is difficult at best. Everybody appears to have retired, or gone belly up. Who’s still making Model A tops? Any suggestions are sincerely appreciated.

    Does this look right?

We are putting a friend's engine together and I'm not sure this hole is supposed to be between the valve gallery and the timing gear .

    Exhaust Whistle

Has anybody tried the new exhaust whistle Bratton's is selling. I've always been a bit reluctant to put one in the engine compartment (why invite exhaust leaks) but this one goes on the end of the tailpipe.

    New Exhaust Whistle

Has anybody tried the new train exhaust whistle that Bratton's is selling? How does it compare to the sound of the old Aermore?

    Losing Ignition

I've got an issue in my Roadster that has me stumped. When I turn on the key I have ignition. When I step on the starter it will fire, but just for a moment, and then I lose spark. I've tried swapping out the coil and it didn't change anything. I then swapped out the condenser, still no...

    Spring May Have Arrived

I'm hoping that Spring may have arrived in Virginia. It was a balmy 35 degrees at 8:00 AM this morning, so I decided to take the Cabriolet to church. What a beautiful 50 mile ride, and now it's 65 degrees. I'm really looking forward to putting some serious miles in my Model A's this year.

    Seat Belts

Shortly after I bought my S/W Cabriolet I decided to put seat belts in. Today I went out to work on it and have run into a dilemma. My Roadster was easy because the seat doesn't move, but my Cabriolet has a movable seat. Has anybody added seatbelts to a Cabriolet with a movable seat? I don't...

    Brake Drum Temperatures

I just replaced the drums and brakes in my cabriolet. The rear drums are running just over 100 degrees, but the front drums are running around 150 degrees. I don't believe that I'm dragging the front brakes because the wheels turn freely when spin them while the car is in jack stands. I also...

    Accelerator Linkage

I've been trying to determine why my Cabriolet has so much less power than my Roadster. Today, I just happened to look at how much pedal travel ther is and how much it opened up the carburetor. I discovered that the roadster opens the carb all the way to the stop and the cabriolet only opens...

    Brake Floaters

I'm replacing the brakes in my 68C and have installed the brake floaters in the the operating wedge. I notice that the rollers are contacting the stud washer which causes the brake shoes to ride up 1/4 inch at the center. I can't see any way to keep the shoes in proper position without...

    1.5 Volts Across the Points

I'm stumped. My Model A started but then quit and wouldn't start again. When I checked the ignition (always the first thing I check) I found 6.23 volts everywhere except across the points, where I have 1.5 volts (and at the positive side of the coil). I've replaced the points, condensor, and...

    Clutch shaft replacement

I pulled my brake and clutch pedals today to pull my steering box and discovered that the shaft is badly worn. I want to replace it, but can't see a way to remove the pin without going into the bell housing, which entails either pulling the engine or rear end. Does anybody know of a method of...
