Yes, I too have wondered about the sound of the new unit.
I have two original Aermore whistles (and I know that there are (or were) excellent reproductions available), but having used them both in my youth, I know that the installation between the exhaust manifold and the muffler can cause problems and exhaust leaks over time.
So I was interested in the new 'Aermore' sounding whistle that mounts at the very end of the tail pipe, reasoning that the problems of the original Aermore mounting would be negated with this new mounting location.
