Old trouble light or old light trouble

I pick up this old trouble light at a yard sale for a buck (guy said switch was broken), the switch is fine, but there was no bulb, that's why it (the switch) felt broken. The black parts are wood, the cloth covered wires need to be replaced, the body is plated brass and has a glass lens, the...

Axle weights on a Model A?

Has anyone put their A's across a truck scale and noted the weights on the front and rear axles? No truck stops with scales near me and I don't want to go to the IDOT weigh station (They don't have set open hours and I'm not a fan of theirs anyway). Thanks, Clyde VanEvery

    Ford A / Sears tractor

I went to a truck/antique equipment/tractor show a couple of weeks ago and spotted a homebuilt garden tractor that was for sale, it is a hodge podge of parts from, according to the sign, Sears and Ford Model A. I fell for it, but my more practical (I thought) better half, hit me with the old...

I went to Bowling Green Ohio for the Historical Construction Equipment show. As per usual after the 6 hr drive it started to rain soon after I got there, after the drought this year it wasn't in me to wish the rain would stop, so I found real nice little museum in town called Snook's Dream Cars...

    I think spring is springin'

Sorta, kinda Model A related, on wednesday I got the A out of the big garage, started and driven around to the "Model A garage" (the climate controlled one). Temps in the low 60's and windy as all getout, looked around the yard at the sticks and limbs blown down and started to pick them up...

    Mice Deterent

I know this has been talked about to the Nth degree and everyone has their own thoughts on it but on the Heavy equipment forum I belong to this product was brought up. I don't have any experience with it but some of the people there like it, although they said it was a little pricey. I just...

I just picked up a Homelite generator today and was looking at the schematics and noticed that even the manufacters don't know everything about their products or why some parts are there. My hats off to you Guys that do research on Model A's if you ever run into this sort of thing in the Ford...

    Ford or Ford licensed?

A couple years ago I reworked the front end on my 31 CC P/U. When I was unbolting the wishbone I noticed it had the rubber ball "fix" in place, I eliminated that and installed the proper parts after building up the ball and filing it down. When I was picking up and wiping off the parts that I...

    Oil Gauge

Was looking through my book "The Legendary Model A Ford" when this caught my eye. Says that an oil gauge was standard equipment on the A. Was this true? I was under the impression that oil gauges were add ons. Maybe someone in the know can shed some light on this for me. Hopefully you can make...
