    33 Fuel Issues

My 33 is being a real pain! It had been running fine but family health issues took us out of Georgia for three months early this year and the car was not run at all during that time. It sits in a 30x40 metal building that is climate controlled with temperature in the low 70’s and low humidity...

    32 Roadster on BAT

Very older restoration 32 Deluxe Roadster just sold on BAT today for $32,750 plus fees, etc. 18 serial transmission but engine probably is not a 32 block. I couldn’t read the prefix number on the heads but they didn’t appear to be aluminum. Needs a complete new paint and lots of TLC. John

    Sticking Needle Valve

If I leave my all stock 36 for more than a few days the gas will evaporate from the Stromberg 97 bowl. The needle valve will stick shut when the float drops from the fuel evaporation. Consequently the engine will not start because no fuel can get into the carburetor. My fix is to disconnect...

    Grease Gun Adapter

Who makes an adapter that is 1/4 x 28 female thread on one end and the other end is for a 1933 grease fitting that is a conical head with just has a small hole in it for grease to flow through? I could change all the fittings to modern Zerk style but really don’t want to go that route. TIA, John

    Value

There has been a fair amount of discussion regarding ‘value’ on this forum lately. Mecum has a Trio of Genuine Ford Classics to be Offered at Mecum Glendale: March 18-22, 2025. A 34 Cabriolet, a 34 & a 35 Phaeton will go on the block. All appear to be nice original vehicles. Last months Mecum...

    Tool locations

My 1933 Cabriolet has a pocket in the rumble sear area that is for tools. The pouch, filled with some tools, will fit inside the pocket. My question is: where was the Jack, Jack handle, crank handle/wheel wrench & crank handle stored when she left the factory. My 1936 Phaeton has no place...

    32-33 Oil Tube

I am looking for the oil tube for a 32-33 V8. Part number I believe is 18-6765. It is about 5 inches tall and about 1.35 inches in diameter. Found a usable Burgess style air silencer. Thank you North Carolina!

    Optima in a 36

Here’s my solution to installing an Optima in the original battery location. I just made a stainless frame that drops the battery about an inch or so lower than the original.

    Hot Rod Engine

Here’s a nice photo of a 1926 Model T engine with a Miller overhead valve racing engine in the Brumos Museum, Jacksonville, FL. It’s one mile from Mayo Clinic so if you happen to be in the area it’s a great visit! JG

    Interesting Comparison

I went to a small monthly car show at the Sea Island Lodge yesterday and drove my 36 Phaeton. Another member brought his 35 Phaeton hot rod and it was interesting to see the differences. His body is a 35 with 36 front sheet metal. He is running a 59AB engine, a 5 speed transmission and a mid...

    Insurance that works

I’m thinking of hiding “Airtags” in both of my old Fords. It’s really cheap insurance that actually works and would take you right to the correct location in the event of a stolen vehicle. The gas tank came to mind but the AirTag isn’t really waterproof. Maybe inside of a door in a plastic bag...

    33 Cabriolet Door Striker

The striker plate on the drivers side door of my 33 Cabriolet is very loose. I’ve tried to tighten it up but it appears that I probably have either a stripped bolts, stripped cage nuts or both. It wiggles up and down as you can see from the two photos. I have circled the plate in a red line. I...
