32-48 Drive Shaft Roller Bearing Trust Washer

To me it makes sense that there would be a thrust washer rear of the bearing as it gives the bearing cage something to rotate on. The cage is constantly in motion and having it bump up against the grease seal, although steel encased, I wouldn't think that's a great design.

32-48 Drive Shaft Roller Bearing Trust Washer

Guys, On my 33 Pickup I damaged the front drive shaft roller bearing thrust washer when trying to remove the grease seal in the drive tube. This thrust washer is between the grease seal and roller bearing. I can find no part number for it or references to it in any of my literature. It looks...

33 ****** to Driveshaft Oil Leak

Guys, I now believe the excess oil is coming from the rear end. Truck suspension is stock except I'm running 32" OD tires in the back and 28" OD tires in the front. The rear end is now disconnected so I can't tell how the drive tube angle will be until I reassemble everything. Do I replace the...

33 ****** to Driveshaft Oil Leak

Thanks guys much appreciated. Lots of good suggestions. Think I'll try a new output bearing with seal and see if that stops it from leaking. New gaskets of coarse. The front end isn't dropped but I am running quite large tires on the rear so possible that it is coming from the differential. I...

33 ****** to Driveshaft Oil Leak

Guys, On my 33 Pickup I have a standard 3 speed ******. Not sure what year the ****** is as it came with the truck but I believe its 33-47. Maybe someone can advise me on how to tell the year. Anyway, I'm chasing an oil leak. Oil is coming out of the output bearing, caged ball bearing, and into...

    41 Distributor Inner Cap Issue

Thank you for the responses. I plan to get some new inner caps tomorrow. The coil, which has been checked out, good, has the Ford logo on top. The condenser I have on now I bought because the guy who tested the coil & condenser told me that I had a bad condenser. It is now a Napa FA49. It bolts...

    41 Distributor Inner Cap Issue

Guys, I've been pulling my hair out as to why I can't get spark on my 41 V8. New points, distributor set up on machine, coil checked out good, new condenser, and new solid core wires. Just finished complete rebuild of Dads old hot rod engine. Anyway, I thought I'd check the continuity from the...

    33-34 Pickup Hood Hinge Question

Guys, I'm trying to separate the hood hinge joint on my 33 Pickup and need advice. The side panels came apart easily once I drove the 1/4" rods out, but I can't see what to do on the center top hinge joint. I have driven in a 3/16" rod about 5" but that didn't seem to push any rod out the...

    33-34 Pickup Radiator Elevation

Guys, I'm putting back together the front end on my 33 pickup and need to know the exact elevation of the radiator feet supports in relationship to the bottom of the frame so that I can weld in new supports. I have the front to back figured out using the hood and grille shell. If someone that...

33-34 Pickup Horn Button / Light Switch

First off I'm not sure if the 33 pickup and car had the same horn button/light switch assembly. I have a 33 pickup so that's what I need. I don't need the light switch rod as I'm just filling the hole in the wheel. Thanks Peder

    Plug Wire Metal Tubes

Guys, I'm rebuilding my Dads 41 flathead. The distributer is the 37-41 style with the 37-41 caps and rubber boots. I must be missing the metal tubes that run from the rubber boots up along the heads where the plug wires come out. I had an old set off my 35 Ford and they don't even come close...
