I just finished replacing the light switch on my 31 A and I tried to get as much of the old oil out as I could. I know that it should take 4.5 oz. to fill the box and in trying to refill it I could only about 2 oz. in until the kevel of the fluid was at the top of the fill hole.

We just got home from the Glidden Tour in NY. I seemed to me the steering the car took a lot more effort than before so I have some questions:
I. remember an EZ Steer kit in the past, but I can't find out any current info. Does anyone have contact info?
2. Is there any steering box lube that...
I am doing a service on my "A" and can not find any maintenance information about the unit. Is there any thing that needs to done other than check the oil level, like hidden grease fittings? Thanks, Steve
Thanks for the help. I installed the CS751 points. gapped them to .020. Then ran the engine and it ran great. I now have a blue spark over 1/2 inch long. I'm not sure what caused or fixed the problem.
The reason that I posted earlier was that after a drive yesterday I noticed that the the car did have its normal power. and found that the spark was weak. I took the distributor cap and body off and found that that point gap was was quite large.
The points I was using was an Echlin CS 755 set. I...
I read a lot about the modern ignition points set sold by the regular suppliers aren't that good. Who makes the best point set and what is the part number. Thanks, Steve
Tried many times to this kit to work properly. After many posts ted corresponded with me personally. I never got them to work as well as the original set-up with the common floaters. Thats what I would do and save your money.
I have just finished doing a service on my 1930. One of the things I did was to tighten up the two radius ball nuts. I checked a lot of the books and previous post about the proper procedure and found a bunch of ways to do it.. The reason for this was I had a slight steering wheel shake between...
If the stock brakes are in top condition they will stop the wheels from turning. This is what the hydraulic brakes do. Soooo what's the point. Model A tires have a small footprint which is more of an issue when compared to modern tires.
I got it done. I ground down 2 old wenches and they worked well. The hardest part was doing it by yourself. It would have been a lot easier with a helper to tell you which one valve was open so you could check its partner using the rule of 9. When I do it again i'll be looking for a helper, any...
I am getting ready to adjust the valve clearance which is long overdue. If I remember right on adjustable Tappets you turn the 7/16 bolt to the left to decrease the clearance and to the right to to increase. Just checking, Thanks, Steve
