I have removed both my clutch and brake arms as the bushings are worn on my 1947 Ford.
I see that they sell a shaft and bushings or just bushings.
I tapped on the end of the shaft and it seems to be in the pedal assembly pretty solid.
Is the shaft locked in the pedal assembly with a bolt some...
One distributor is the crab style and the other is a rabbit ear style. I am trying to install the crab style distributor on the engine that originally had the rabbit ear style and it was proud of the cover.
Two members pointed me to the adapter that will solve my dilemma!

My dilemma is trying to fit the crab style distributer (deeper on the back) to the engine that had the two piece cap style ( shorter on the back).
Is it possible that my donor engine has one of these adapters from the factory?
I am in the process of swapping engines (both 59AB) in my early 1947 Ford. This is fairly original car with a lot of miles on the odometer.

Look forward to your advice/suggestions...
I am converting my 1948 Ford convertible to 12 volts. One final issue is the convertible top motor. I spoke with an automotive electrical outfit and they can rewind the field coils and get me were I want to be but I was wondering if anybody knows if a later motor from 1956 or later would...
I am swapping out a Columbia rear end in my 1947 Ford for another Columbia from a 1948 Ford (this is another complete story). It has the lower brackets for use with tube shocks and I was wondering if anybody had a feel for what I would need to do for an upper shock mount and it's location so I...
I went through the same steps as you are when I converted my '50 Mercury to 12volts. One suggestion is to source your power to the starter button from the run side of the ignition switch. That prevents accidental and unintended starter engagement.
