    "31 160B Top Molding

Does anyone have a good method for bending the top moldings for a '31 S/W sedan? These are sold in straight sections and need to be formed (the hardway) to 90 degree bends. Do you use heat or bend them cold?

    Carb paint

Aero gloss is Nitrate Dope. You can still get dope from Aircraft Spruce, Randolph Products or Brodak. I get mine from Brodak (Randolph makes it for them) in quart cans. it's easy to spray and works very well.

    Which one do I have?

It's looks like a 160B Town Sedan. It should also have an oval dome light (same as a Victoria) and the interior handles are plain (all same as a Victoria or 400-A Convertible Sedan). 160-A doesn't have cowl lamps and has the scrolled interior handles.

    Enclosed Car Trailer

I have a Transport Designs (Williamsport, PA, area) 16 foot trailer that is excellent. They are all custom built and will build anything you want. I primarily use it to pull a small race car (1300#) but I made sure the "A" would fit. I went with springs over Torflex - if you damage a spring...

    Engine Swap

Thanks to all of you. I have doen an install in a frame but this is the first time with the body on the car. I have a frame spreader so it shouldn't be too hard. I just didn't understand why Les Andrews said to do them seperately and thought there might be a great secret there.

    Engine Swap

I am replacing the engine and transmission in a Model "A". In Les Andrews book, he suggests that you should install the transmission to the torque tube (mounted on a floor jack) then install the engine and mate the bellhousing with the flywheel cover. It seems more intuitive to mount the...

    Ford engine green paint color

Patra/Midwest paint is actually aircraft dope. That is getting hard to find - in fact may be discontinued. I buy mine from Brodak, who package it in small amounts for model builders. Brodak dope made by Randolph. You can also buy Randolph from Aircraft Spruce. I spray it with a gun, and the...

    Tire Replacement

I'm replacing a thirty-year old set of tires on my Model A. Can I re-use the old tubes or would it be best to replace them?

    Ezold's "Secret" Vintage Fords

I agree with everything you said about Warren Paul. He was very helpful to me on both 160B's I restored, one of which I bought from him. Talk about pulling things from a pile. I was on my way to Page's in New Hampshire to look for a front seat for a 160B. I stopped at Warren's to drop off a...
