    Lights and filler screen

This build has taken me several years as I did all the work myself. I can't say if I touch the bulbs with my fingers or not, but I would bet I did over time. Great feed back. Thank you all so much. Sure does help to have friends even if it is on line.

    Lights and filler screen

I converted my 30 coupe to a 12v alternator system. Like the results so far. I converted my headlights to 12v halogen bulb setup. Took a drive after dark for the first time last night. Lights worked great for about two blocks then one headlight went out. About 5 seconds later the other light...

    Tail light position

Thanks H. L., that all makes sense. I'll look at it from that perspective. You know, I grew up on model A's. Had three of them while in high school. Even overhauled one. Thought I knew a little about them when I got this one, but time does things to you. I found that I had to relearn...

    Tail light position

Here goes a really dumb question: What is the correct position to mount a tail light on a 1930 model a coupe. I got to looking at my two tail lights and did a little measuring. Found that they were not the same height. Now not sure if either one is in the correct position. So, how many...

Is it my alternator or not

Just as I suspected it was something simple that I was overlooking. With a little prodding from you guys I went back to the horn/light circuits. I removed them, put the battery wire back on the alternator and Shazam! No more short. I was almost sure I had checked them before, but now stand...

Is it my alternator or not

I am rapidly becoming stumped and bewildered. I removed the metal connector tbird and it had no effect. Tom, when I ordered the alternator it was supposed to be one for a 12v system with a negative ground. By using a wire to check across the fuse block I find what seems to be a direct short...

Is it my alternator or not

Is it my alternator or not

Completing a total rebuild on 30 A coupe. All new wiring and conversion to 12 volt with a one-wire alternator. Just added gas and tried to start for the first time since tear-down. Wouldn't hit a lick. Found the fuse blown at the starter. Replaced fuse and after turning on the disconnect...

    window regulator

Rex, you may be right, but it would be nice if someone would make a pkg of 3 or 4 types that you could purchase, then use the one needed.

    window regulator

Thanks Ray, I'll try Berts. I had my problems with the cheap window aluminum window channels too. Threw them away. Got channels for a four dr and after altering them a bit they work great. It sure is nice to have a place to go for answers. Thanks guys.

    window regulator

I am rebuilding a 1930 model A coupe and am experiencing some difficulties finding an original window regulator. I ordered two from Mac's some time ago. When trying to install them recently I find the regulator hits the window channel. I have filed, trimmed and bent. It still hits though not...

    Fitting a '30 Coupe Header

I am thinking the header is to wide where the top wood fits into the grove and has pushed one of the pillars slightly to one side. Is that possible?

    Fitting a '30 Coupe Header

Marco has it so right. I installed new top wood and header in my 30 coupe. I now find that I have two problems. First, the windshield is to low and hits on the bottom of the frame. Second, the opening for the windshield in not square. The only thing I can do is take it all apart and start...
