    Radiator

Looking for opinions on discoloring section of radiator. My radiator spits up a little on a hot day in Florida when driving 45 mph. Otherwise, it does not appear to loose water. Level stays just covering the baffle. I would think that discoloring in the photo suggests a tiny leak. Or could...

    mounting a new radiator

With two springs on each stud 2 7/8 it is a ***** to get the castle nut on. Tough to get a prybar in there to lift the lower plate to the point where lower spring is compressed enough to get castle nut on. Can the 26-27 studs 2 3/8 be used?

    Thrust Question

Wow! Thanks for the info on the washer. The coupe is a 1923, but is has been fitted with the wider brake drum of the 26/27. The drum has the inserts covering the tabs where the outer clutch discs slot. The key does not contact the three thrust washers. There is plenty of play between the bottom...

    Thrust Question

The engine is vertical on the stand. The flywheel, triple gears, and drums are all in place. The three thrust washers are in place, When driving the clutch basket down on the key, and then running in the square head bolt into the shaft, I end up with no clearance. Book says I should be able to...

    Rod Caps - Advice Needed

Novice here. When I took the engine apart on my 1923 coupe I noticed that the number 2 rod cap had been X and a dipper pipe had been installed. I would have expected that to be the number 1. None of the other caps had been X or drilled. On closer inspection I noticed that the "number 2" had...

    Crank end play

I have 023" end play in the crank as measured between the end of the block and the crank flange. What is this going to do to the operation of the magneto? I was undecided about putting in a new magneto or running off battery. Thanks in advance for comments. It is a 1923 coupe.

Please repond - magneto advice needed

My last post only received 1 reply. Perhaps I did not phrase questions right. Hoping for more response this time. I am working on getting a 1923 coupe running. Not a show car by any stretch of the imagination. Last time it ran was 30 years ago. It was running on battery at the time. Magneto...

    Magneto Advice Needed

I am about ready to pull the engine on my 1923 T. It has been sitting for 30 years. When it was running last, it was running on battery. My questions are: 1. By 23 the T had battery, starter, and generator. Why did Ford continue to include the magneto? 2. What are the pros for running on...
