i like that, but do not have the tooling for that. i'm not going crazy with this, just doing a mild port job to clean things up.

i'm in the process of porting my exhaust ports and have a question. as you know, the end ports have an open space before the opening. i seen where ol ron moved the opening further forward and modified the outlet. i was wondering if maybe there is some kind of epoxy that could be used to fill in...

looking for a flathead shop in west central illinois, or east central iowa that does sonic testing, my local shop doesn't do it.

well, learned the hard war that all 49-53's didnt have valve seats. in my case intakes. took my block to a local machinist, and he said the 2 seats in the pix are not fixable, therefore, the block is scrap. i'm hoping to get a few opinions on this to see if there's someway it can be saved. i...

1st, i would like to correct my info. it is the exhaust seats that came out easy, not the intakes. 2nd i am certain the intakes have no seats. as much work i have put into them and not even a budge. called my local machine shop and they are backed up for 2 months! guess i am done for now...

managed to get 8 intake valve seats out with my mig. used the mig on the exhaust seats, wont budge, tried flux core, same thing. starting to wonder if there are any seats there. i know the later engines done away with valve seats, but never hear of mixing them. any ideas?

hi Ron, yup, going to keep it simple. new valve train and seats, its already 3.5/16, 49 merc cam and a regular dual with 94"s. been told not to use new lifters. have a lightly used set of adjustables, your thoughts?
