I did same in my 56 Ford, using one from a 52 Ford, only shortened the drive shaft, works great.

I vote for Newport, working great in my 50 and 52 Fords, and in the throes of installing them in my 56 Sunliner. They handle Florida Rain which can really be heavy.

When did you order the interior? I ordered an Ultraleather Rolled and Pleated Cover and seat repair kit from EZ-Boy Three years ago. Turned out great. Now they are offering original coverings only as far as I can tell. EZ had been in business since 1940, and appeared to go under about a year...
