My 1929 Model A pickup front cowl is rusted away at the base of the side sheet metal. The bottom half of the angled brackets on the inside are gone as well. I have what I believe is the front cowl to a coupe for parts. Can the inside brackets be used on my pickup? They look to be the same...

Any hints on how to loosen that sleeve so it slides? Is the sleeve brass?

I'm new to this site and new to restoring Model A's. Just got a 1929 Model A pickup given to me by my Grandma. I'm currently tearing it down to the frame. How do you get the choke rod taken off of the carb? I'm trying to get the cowl off of the truck and this is holding me up. Thank you.
