    Gear drive starter

It took me a while to understand that the stock starter button didn't provide power to the solenoid. Thanks for the reply.

    Gear drive starter

I had another thread on using a gear drive starter on a stock flywheel; which was answered. The gear drive starter that I have doesn't seem to work, where is the best place to buy another one? I wired it a couple of different ways, and no bueno. My Model A is 12v, with a starter button...

Installing a gear drive starter in a Model A

Would this be a simple install. I heard somewhere that the ring gear had to be turned around; which wouldn't make this a simple install. This would be a Model A with a "B" engine. I wouldn't think that it would be a problem, but I thought I would ask to see if anyone has any insight into this swap.

Re-Stamping Engine Number / Frame Number

My 1929 Model A RPU had a new engine installed in the ‘40 or ‘50s. At that time a new VIN or motor number was assigned to the title; which was LBxxxxx. The problem I see with changing the motor number would be proving ownership of the new engine; which would be the new VIN or motor number on the...

    Fuel or electric?

At this point, i would put some gas in a small can, with a hose going to the fuel pump and see if the pump will pump gas to the carburetors. Make sure the hose goes to the bottom of the can. This would eliminate everything from the pump to the tank. If it runs, then you know where to look.

    Fuel or electric?

Have you ever had the tank out and cleaned?

    Fuel or electric?

Richard, is the gas line that you hooked the siphon hose to, the same gas line that goes to the fuel pump? If so, then there might be something in your tank that is blocking fuel flow. The gas smell, is probably a slight gas leak. I'd probably should pull the fuel line at the inlet side of the...

    Rattles. Where to start?

Chassis Ears About eight years ago I was trying to figure out where a noise was coming from on my OT truck. Here is a link that I participated in on the Garage Journal: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/chassis-ears-tell-me-all-about-them.148985/#post-3787742 Here is the post...

    Fuel or electric?

Most vacuum gauges can be used for pressure.

    Fuel or electric?

I think what Dan and I were trying to figure out, is the fuel pump actually working. If you disconnect the fuel pump outlet line (the one to the carburetor) and put a pressure gauge on it, that would give you the measure of the fuel pump output.

    Fuel or electric?

If you aren't getting fuel out of the outlet of the fuel pump, then the pump isn't working for some reason. What engine are you running? The post that "danliveshere" posted would give you an indication if the pump is being actuated by the camshaft.
