My 1929 Model A RPU had a new engine installed in the ‘40 or ‘50s. At that time a new VIN or motor number was assigned to the title; which was LBxxxxx. The problem I see with changing the motor number would be proving ownership of the new engine; which would be the new VIN or motor number on the title.
My Model A was purchased out of state and the state patrolman that inspected it told me if I found a frame number, the could change the title or they would put a number on it.
