    46-48 trunk liner cardboard

That's OK., not necessary. Actually, it's the kick panels I was most interested in. Looking at the restoration manual, it appears as though those should be vinyl covered to match seats. REF: The 1941-48 Ford Book. Section 3, page 14

    46-48 trunk liner cardboard

We used to be able to but precut trunk liner cardboards as I recall. Is there no longer a source for them? Thanks in advance.

1947 Ford oil pressure sending unit

That's a great idea! I wonder why didn't Ford have something like that initially? I can'e believe the extra length changes the pressure reading. I might just get myself one of those. Thank you.

1947 Ford oil pressure sending unit

I ended up buying a Snap-On S-8659 tool designed specifically for that job. Hopefully it makes the job easier. I tested the wire from the sender by attaching it to a ground and the gauge responded, so I'm fairly confident the old sender was the problem.

1947 Ford oil pressure sending unit

Has anyone tried replacing the 80 lb. oil pressure sending unit on a 1946-1948 Ford? They don't seem particularly easy to access. Any tricks or techniques I should know? Thank you in advance.

    Convertible top hydraulic lines

So my '47 has an original pump motor mounted on the engine compartment firewall and an original switch/valve/diverter mounted on the firewall under the dash. The power top has never worked. My thought is to put new/modern components in the car so the top can operate again. I like the whole...

    Convertible top hydraulic lines

So if I'm understanding correctly, you guys are suggesting that any new motor be placed under the back seat rather than on the engine compartment firewall? Shorter hydraulic lines but a longer switch line running from under the back seat to the dash? The more modern set-ups don't use a...

    Convertible top hydraulic lines

Thank you very much. While I'd like stay stay as original as possible, it seems to me that won't be a particularly viable option. I see the original pump only pumped in one direction and relied on the switch/valve assembly. I have the original pump and switch/valve but I have no idea if they're...

    Convertible top hydraulic lines

Can anyone tell me how the hydraulic lines were routed from the pump back to the cylinders in 46-48 Ford convertibles? Is there a routing diagram schematic somewhere? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Ford taillight buckets

Thank you, that's the unit! Do you know if anyone still makes it? Much appreciated!

    Ford taillight buckets

No, it's still 6 volt. Looking for a 6v LED version of that bulb....if it exists.

    Ford taillight buckets

My '47 Ford was modified along the way so that it would have turn signals. You can see from the attached images a zinc bracket that holds two different types of bulbs. The small blade bulb on the lest serves as brakes and directionals. The round bulb is wires for running lights at night. That...

Can anyone tell me where I can find the taillight bucket inserts like the ones in the photo? Thank you.

    Brake lights not working

My '47 Ford has no brake lights. I'm trying to diagnose why. The directionals and parking lights work but not the brake lights. The car has an older after market turn signal installed (Signal-Stat 900). It also has a taillight configuration like one in the image attached. The car is still 6...
