Ford taillight buckets

My '47 Ford was modified along the way so that it would have turn signals. You can see from the attached images a zinc bracket that holds two different types of bulbs. The small blade bulb on the lest serves as brakes and directionals. The round bulb is wires for running lights at night. That assembly was clearly installed in the original Ford bucket. Does anyone know who made that assembly or if it still exists somewhere it can be replaced? The blade bulb no longer works and cannot be removed from the socket.

Has your car been converted to 12 V ? I have a similar set up in my 48. (12V) It is an aftermarket item.. If 12 V , I can give you some info on it.. I think the bulb can be removed. I will check my spares.

Not sure why that modification was made as your turn signals work right off your brake light bulbs. Very standard in many vehicles an very easy to connect add on turn signals.

I looked at mine. They are halogens and yes, the bulb seem to be non-seperable. My car is 12 V. I put them in mine because they were brighter than using the standard bulb.

Yes they are in stock at the link I posted, https://www.affordablestreetrods.com...rd-led-tl.html however they will be dim with 6 -6.7 volts.

You could boost the output of the generator to the 7.7V value but then the rest of your bulbs and points will wear out sooner.
