    1930 model a

Nobody has answered your point about the doors overlapping the body. They should be that like that. There are no door seals to keep the rain out.

    Windshield Weather Stripping

Cut it at 45 and use super glue at the joint.

    ccpu interior panel

It can be purchased from a shop that does auto upholstery. It needs to be covered with vinyl like your seat has. Use contact cement to attach it. There should not be cardboard around the rear window of a 28 ccpu.

    Bolt Finishes and wire install

A good place to buy safety wire is at a small airport where they do aircraft repair. They use stainless tie wire and will probably sell you a spool or a few feet of it. That's where I buy mine.

What is best waterproofing material for top?

I've used a sealant named Big Stretch on several tops that I've installed. It's made by Sashco and can be purchased through Amazon or at some building supply or hardware stores for about $6.00. It's black acrylic latex that comes in a 10.5 oz. caulking gun tube. It's not like other latex calks...

    HOOD Restoration question

I say yes because all it takes is a simple buck ground to the shape of the rivet head and a punch to flare the hollow rivet. The punch can be purchased from Model A parts suppliers or you can make one in five minutes if you have a small lathe. The rivets are also available from the same...

    28-29 CCPU anti-squeak...

The problem with using friction tape is that the cloth absorbs and holds water. This will result in rust. I used caulk made for auto body seams. There is no squeak and a good water seal.

    Riveting on frame question

A junk Model T or A axel makes a good bucking bar. Cut off the threaded end. Then grind a pocket in that end to the shape of the rivet head. This can all be done in less than30 minutes.

Model A as a Power Unit

Go to an antique car swap meet and you will find Model A frames for sale. For your purpose, it doesn't matter if it is bent and not usable for a car. The price should be cheap.

    Painting SS Radiator Shell

Mask it off and lightly sand blast with fine sand the area you want it paint. Primer and paint will never come off. Duct tape or rubber tape are needed for masking since the sand will eat right through paper masking tape.

    Removing Window from 29 CCPU

Doug, There is a clip at the bottom of the channel. Most of the new kits have clips for the bottom of the channels and small flat head screws that attach them in the window opening area. It actually works pretty good. When you buy the kit you will also get bumpers for the glass for when it...

    Model A Door Bottom Rusting

Does anyone know how to stop Model A doors from rusting at the bottom from rain water running into the door? There are no seals to prevent water from entering between the glass and outer door skin. The doors have drain holes but water still gets in between the sheet metal folds at the bottom and...

    Butler Nickel on Instrument Panel

Mark, Thanks for posting the photos. They give me a good idea of what Butler plating on an instrument panel should look like.

    Butler Nickel on Instrument Panel

Tom, thanks for posting the photo of the original instrument panel. It's hard to see if it has any sanding or grinding lines in it that are either vertical or horizontal. It looks like the lines that are visible may be scratches from years of use. Maybe, an original instrument panel never did...

    Butler Nickel on Instrument Panel

I do my own bright nickel plating and would like to try Butler Nickel plating on an instrument panel. Does anyone have a good photo showing this finish on an instrument panel? I don't know if the surface scratches are vertical or horizontal or if they are on the sides of the part as well as the...
