    backfire/stalling

Yes I meant the throttle plate is wobbly. Good thing I gave an extra carb to the guy I sold my last one to!

Touchy clutch (learning curve part 2)

Solved backfiring/timing issue and now have an issue with clutch. Prior to this car I had a 1930 sedan for 16 years and had no issues with clutch and shifting. This one makes it almost impossible to get in gear w/o grinding trans. Once I get it in 1st if I leave the clutch in and try 2nd or 3rd...

    backfire/stalling

Thanks for ideas. Watched a Les Andrews video and he reminded me that I forgot to check travel of spark lever. Adjusted steering column so it could retard all the way, reset timing and runs alot better. Still not 100% okay with carb but will roadtest on a warm day first. TBC!:

    Model A Noobie journal

I suggest you watch Les Andrews videos on Youtube. He covers lots of technical stuff in an easy-to-follow and thorough manner. Learned more about setting the timing in 15 minutes than my Dad had taught me in 30 years and he grew up with A`s! I have the same car in all black

    STUPID Question/what does Tudor mean?

Probably Ford trying to be classy by referencing the Royal Family of England! Kind of ironic for an "everyman" car!

    backfire/stalling

just bought another Model A and having learning curve issues compared to the one I used to have. This one starts and runs pretty good but was constantly stalling when I came to a stop. Decided to start with tune-up/ timing and plugs and now I have an occasional backfire as well when I let off...

    Ford assembly line photos

If anyone knows of a good web site for early assembly line photos please let us know. This stuff is so fasinating to look at! The combination of technological innovation and workers frozen in time is just great to look at.:)

    1969 f100 360 v-8 starter

My `69 f100 with a 360 v-8 and standard tran. has developed a starter issue. Every once in awhile the starter spins but won`t engage. Last night I had to put in gear and rock the truck and that seemed to(might have??)freed it up so it turned over and started. Do I need another starter or is the...

    lights on = horn blows

Took a lengthy night ride in our 1930 town sedan and unusual thing occured. With the lights on my horn would go on when making a turn and then stop when going straight. This never happened when lights are off. Is the trouble in the horn button or in the light switch body?? As always, any ideas...

    points gap for 1969 f-100 with 360 v-8

Thanks for the sugestions. Went about 20 miles with it today and it ran WAY better then before I replaced points, condensor and plugs so anything I do to it I don`t want to ruin the improvement!:)

    points gap for 1969 f-100 with 360 v-8

Just put in points in pick-up with 360 v-8 and set with .017 gap.It runs good but when starting it sometimes "grunts" like the timing might be off while other times it turns over and starts fine. Question is which way should I go with points gap? A bit wider or a bit narrower? Any thoughts would...
