    Motorbook Interchange Manual

http://www.amazon.com/Ford-Parts-Interchange-Manual-Motorbooks/dp/0760300771?tag=atomicindus08-20#_ Anyone have this one and able to tell me if the 1959 Galaxie/Fairlane is covered? The first few pages on the Amazon preview weren't very informative. I'm getting my 4-door donor stripped down...

Ford O' Matic vs Cruise o' Matic

I'm an absolute novice when it comes to Ford auto transmissions, and need some information, or directions to information. While restoring my 1959 Skyliner, I've bought a 1959 4-door that had been wrecked. It has the correct 292, but is equipped with a Ford o' Matic. Data plate on the retrac and...

    Dearborn Classics Sheetmetal

Thanks for the info! I'll be keeping an eye out for a door anyway, just wasn't sure what I was looking at there.

    Dearborn Classics Sheetmetal

Had to relocate the Skyliner from her parking space since we're tearing down the carport to make a more permanent add-on to the shop, and during the move, (slid it on wood ramps due to the rear axle being out and the front wheels locked) the driver's door let go along the lower seam where it was...

    1959 Skyliner Frame Restoration

As far as time goes, I've been trying to set modest goals. The plan is to have the chassis done by the end of the year. I've done quite a few restorations on unibody cars over the years, and it's something my wife and her family have been doing for longer than I have. I work pretty fast, to the...

    Work season starting up!

It got wacked on the left front fender. Frame's still straight, and that's all that really mattered beyond the mechanicals. Just wish I could get that door open though. I try to save the data plates from cars I have to scrap when I'm done with them, since I'm a sentimental dork.

    1959 Skyliner Frame Restoration

Been busy the past few weeks, but I am indeed going to do an X-brace transplant. And yeah, I'm pretty anal retentive about my work. Kinda have to be being a dealership mechanic. Doesn't matter if it's a 2007 Subaru STI or my dad's '68 Camaro. If I'm going to do a job, I'm going to do it right...

    Work season starting up!

Out here in Okieland the weather's been absolutely gorgeous the past few days and looks to continue for the next few weeks. (Course, "wait a minute, it will change" remains in full effect) With my work schedule at the Nissan shop being Tues-Sat every week, I'll be diving in on Monday. First...

    FX/MX in a 1959 Skyliner?

According to the door plate and gear selector on my column, my 1959 Skyliner had a Cruiseomatic originally. My 4-door donor car has a 292 Fordomatic. Am I correct in assuming the Skyliner would have used an FX series Cruiseomatic? I'm going back as original as possible and would appreciate any...

    1957 Ford Skyliner Windshield visors?

Great find! I need a pair for my '59.

    1959 Skyliner Frame Restoration

The body is actually in a lot better shape than that picture would indicate. The driver's side in that one section is actually the worst on the vehicle. It's going to take a lot of sheet metal work in that one area, since that's where is was sitting lowest. The passenger side actually doesn't...

    1959 Skyliner Frame Restoration

I hauled a '59 Skyliner out of a field in November and while the roof, relay box and all the screw jacks and mechanism for it are present and functional, it was without a driveline and had spent what I'm guessing were the last 30 years laying frame and abandoned in that spot. The body is...
