FX/MX in a 1959 Skyliner?

According to the door plate and gear selector on my column, my 1959 Skyliner had a Cruiseomatic originally. My 4-door donor car has a 292 Fordomatic. Am I correct in assuming the Skyliner would have used an FX series Cruiseomatic? I'm going back as original as possible and would appreciate any Ford trans info resources anyone knows of.

There is another thread going at the moment which is going around in circles - I gave up - about a gearbox for a 60 F100. That may help a little for what you want to know.
I have pasted the page from the Ford Parts Manual which states what trans your cars should have according to the vin plate.

You could also search Wikipedia for Fordomatic and Cruiseomatic which will give you an insight into the differences.

Think both were available in '59, although can't recall a FOM behind a 352. Lots behind 292's. All I've seen were COM's behind 352's. A Cruise-O is an enhanced Ford-O that starts in low when put in "Drive". A Ford-O started in 2nd. My suggestion would be to update to a C6.
