1929 Emergency Brake Handle

I have a Feb 1929 Business coupe that seems to have all of the right features for the period, with no substitutions. Drum tail-light, 7-tooth steering box, no oval window, early headlites, AND the "squeeze" type handbrake lever in front of the shifter.

I really believe that the shifter is correct for our car, and that it may be correct for some time after Feb., regardless of statements in the JS.

The Restoration guidelines are merely printed after hundreds and hundreds of hours of research and documentation, assembled by one of the major clubs and cross checked by the other major club before being offered to those interested in a correct restoration. I don't see where that would make the info very reliable. I would stick with your observation!

I agree Ford has been said to use up what ever parts that remained untill used up. It would probably cost points in judging if it didn't meet guidlines in judging but if that doesn't matter, I would leave it alone. I like the squeeze handle better anyway .

YAHOO! My June '29 IS correct ! Glad it's NOT a push button, on Minerva, when I got it adjusted tight enough to hold, I COULDN'T push the dang button. I carried a little block of 2x4 to WHACK it!

Willie,...I didn't think we figured out what month your car was?
I would leave the "squeeze type" in your car,...easier on your hands!
